About This Pub

So, picture this – you're in Walsall and fancy a proper night out with some cracking Indian-inspired grub and maybe catching the game on the telly. That's exactly what The Broadway Bar & Grill offers, and from what I've gathered, it's got a lot going for it. The food is often described as gorgeous, with dishes that blend spicy, tangy flavours in a way that could rival your go-to haunts, and they've got a welcoming setup with plenty of seats and screens everywhere. Plus, the team there seems pretty flexible, whipping up surprises like a birthday treat on the fly, which just adds to the warm vibe. But, let's keep it real, it's not all smooth sailing. Some folks have had rough experiences with deliveries turning up cold and burnt, which is a real letdown after shelling out for it, and the food isn't always consistent – one visit it might be lush, the next just okay. Service can be patchy too, with the odd instance where no one's checking in on your order. Overall, though, if you're up for a casual evening with mates, it's worth a punt, as long as you go in with realistic expectations and maybe stick to eating in rather than ordering out.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely delicious, especially the Indian dishes – they're packed with flavour and can even outshine your favourite spots.
  • It's a lively spot with plenty of seating and big TVs, making it ideal for watching the footy over a pint.
  • The staff are really accommodating; they handled a last-minute birthday surprise without any hassle, which was a nice touch.
Cons
  • Food quality can be inconsistent – sometimes it's spot on, but other times it comes out bland or average, which is disappointing.
  • Delivery orders have had major issues, like food arriving cold and burnt, and not looking appetising at all, especially for a pricey £50 spend.
  • Service can be a bit unreliable, with staff not always keeping an eye on your order, leading to a few frustrations.

First time there. It's a lively place. Gorgeous food. We ordered a mix of Indian dishes and, my goodness, we all agreed that it was better than our own favourite restaurant. It was my husband's birthday and they rustled up something last minute (we didn't mention this at the time of booking). Shame we cannot frequent more as we are not local. We've driven past the Grill many times going to the Uni, and never given it a 2nd thought. We will be back!!

The food is good and the Indo-Chinese cuisine can be such a delicious blend of flavours—spicy, tangy, and full of taste!

This is more of a 3.5 than just a 3. As I've been here a couple of times and the food is inconsistent. Sometimes it's lushious other times it bland and average. Order drinks at the bar and food at the kitchen counter. The lady at the bar wouldn't check on our food yet it ended up being the same lady who brought it out. There's a function room downstairs you can hire and if you use the parking outside then be sure to put your reg in the machine at the bar. There's also a pool table which is a nice distraction. As food can take a while at times. Good amount of vegetarian choices too. Once we reserved a table and neither the bar or the kitchen knew anything about it but we were lucky enough to find space. It's get pretty loud in here with the music louder than just ambient sound and everyone trying to talk over it all. Not pricey but wouldn't say it's cheap. If you get the food chef, then it's worth the price. Hope you have the good chef when you go. Enjoy.

Came here Sat night to get a takeaway..! First impressions are wow 😍..plenty of seating and TVs on walls to watch the footy whilst drinking beers and eating food..! Decent setup..! Definitely recommend it..! Food was really nice.. We ordered a selection of items from the menu which were nicely cooked and very tasty..! Vegetarian dishes were also tasty (from what I was told 😅). Didn't take long to get the food.. But we didn't mind as we grabbed a pint 👌..! The chap came over to advise the food was ready. Overall I would definitely recommend if you can fancy an Indian 👍..!
