About This Pub

Ah, The Briars – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper community hub, you know? From what I've gathered chatting about it, the staff are absolute gems; they're always cheerful, attentive, and ready to sort you out, whether you're there for a quick bite or a full celebration. The food really hits the spot too – those sizzling skillets and burgers are packed with flavour, and they've got solid choices for veggies and vegans, all served up fresh and piping hot. It's a brilliant spot for families or groups of friends, with a clean, comfy setting that makes you feel relaxed right away. Plus, it's heartening to see them pitching in for local causes, which gives it that extra layer of warmth. On the downside, it does get a bit lively on busier days, so you might end up queuing for a table, and it's not slap bang in the town centre, which could be a minor hassle if you're navigating. All in all, though, it's a solid choice for a good night out – I'd say give it a go if you're after reliable grub and a friendly chat over a pint.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, always going the extra mile to make you feel right at home.
  • The food is spot on – think delicious sizzling skillets, flame-grilled burgers, and plenty of options for vegetarians and vegans, all at honest prices.
  • It's a proper family-friendly spot with a warm, clean atmosphere that's perfect for celebrations, casual meet-ups, or just unwinding.
  • They're really involved in the local community, supporting charities and offering their function area for free, which adds a nice touch of heart.
  • Great value for money, with daily offers that make it easy to pop in without breaking the bank.
Cons
  • It can get quite busy at times, especially on weekends or for events, which might mean a bit of a wait for a table.
  • The location's a tad tucked away, so if you're not familiar with Kettering, it might take a moment to find your way there.

Our go to food establishment for celebrations. Enjoyed a 70th birthday Sunday lunch with a group of visually impaired and disabled friends. The manager was superb and got us seated quickly even though the pub was expecting a hoard of netballers! The food, as always, was superb and served very promptly. We were extremely grateful that the mix up with our discount voucher was speedily rectified. We LOVE the Briars.

Amazing. Went with my wife and mother this evening having never been to this establishment before, despite living in Kettering for my entire life and I'm impressed. A lovely little quiet place tucked out of the way, but the staff were beyond exceptional. Service was top notch, the atmosphere vibe was positive and the food. Is not an exaggeration to say to die for. The red/dark-haired bartender and lad on shift this evening were an utter delight. Most places you pay for the bill and question if you'd have been better to have cooked at home, but no, It was not just that the food was great, but you could tell that the staff and chef genuinely loved the service that they provided and the food that they produced; therefore, the quality... excelled. Blew our minds. Without any question of doubt we'll be returning. So thank you for an amazing dinner and an amazing evening. Would totally recommend. Whatever you're currently doing works, so keep at it on what you're doing now. Will be back again very soon. Cheers!
