About This Pub
Ah, The Blues Bar – what a spot it is in Harrogate, isn't it? I've got to say, it's one of those places that really captures the heart of Yorkshire with its focus on fresh, local grub that's all about keeping things simple and delicious. The Yorkshire Tapas idea is spot on; you're getting these sharing plates packed with the best local produce, like proper puddings and classic pub fare that's been given a fun twist. Pair that with the live music buzzing away, and you've got yourself a night that's full of energy and charm. The staff are dead helpful too, always ready with a smile and a recommendation, which makes the whole experience feel like catching up with mates. On the flip side, it does have that classic local pub feel, which is brilliant if you're after something relaxed, but it might not wow you if you're in the mood for something a tad more polished. All in all, it's a solid choice for a bite and a bevvy – I'd pop in if you're nearby, as it's got that genuine Yorkshire warmth that's hard to beat.

It might come across as more of a traditional local boozer at times, which could disappoint if you're after something a bit more upscale or refined.

Based on a few comments, the portions or experience might not always live up to the hype for everyone, especially if you're expecting a grand feast.

Great little find, live music was playing downstairs and atebTapas upstairs, I Had the Tatties Bravas, Albondigas and Pork...lovely very nice, definitely recommend 👌🏻
Great experience, sitting upstairs overlooking the green. Food was beautifully presented and very tasty. We had 2 small tapas and 2 large tapas for the two of us. Throughly enjoyed the experience and would recommend a visit.
Has the feel of a friendly local boozer; staff very friendly and welcoming; clearly a place with history and a devoted clientele. Worth saying that my family and I were here primarily looking for some scran. Yorkshire tapas sounds (and purports to be) generous and celebratory of local produce; this wasn’t what we got. At £7-9 plus a dish, we chose 5 or so and spent around £35. What arrived, among some drab olives and slices of jalapeños, were 3 pigs in blankets, four tiny albondigas that were mealy and dry (likely recently frozen), a handful of chips, and a burnt onion Bhaji. The bhaji was so black and acrid to eat that we returned it, and the waitress politely then informed us that it was how it was supposed to be. What then arrived was a pile of bhaji bits - not nearly as big as the first portion - that looked as if someone had dismantled angrily on to the plate. It was still caught and unpleasant to eat. We were all still very hungry after we’d eaten and couldn’t help but rue not just going to grab some pizza somewhere.
Go for the vibes, the friendly staff and atmosphere. My advice is don’t bother with the food.
Visited previously without dining and loved the place! We were really looking forward to trying the Yorkshire Tapas and we were not disappointed - every dish was superb - beautifully cooked and well presented. We were only 2 and so were given the little booth in the window facing out over the green and the flower beds opposite - just idyllic. The service was as good as everything else and we can’t recommend this place highly enough!!
We visited this place for the first time and were blown away by the amazing music. The atmosphere was fantastic, the band was incredible, and the overall experience was unforgettable.
