About This Pub
Ah, The Black Horse in Consett – it's one of those classic pubs that you pop into for a quick pint and end up staying for hours, chatting away with the locals. From what I've gathered, the staff really shine here; they're polite and make you feel like part of the gang, which is just what you want on a Friday night. The drinks are spot on too – great value offers and a solid selection that won't leave you disappointed, especially if you're into watching live sports like football or horse racing. That beer garden out back is a real treat when the weather's nice, giving you a chance to enjoy a drink al fresco. But, and I have to be straight with you, it's not all rosy; there've been some whispers about the new management not being as warm, leading to a few regulars heading elsewhere and even some staff departures that have shaken things up a bit. Still, with an overall rating hovering around a solid 4 out of 5, it's worth a visit if you're in the area – just go in with an open mind and see for yourself. All in all, it's a dependable spot for a good time, as long as you catch it on a good day.

Really liked the atmosphere in the bar. Friendly staff and very reasonable prices. Sadly it's been taken over now and many of the regulars have already been banned and the brilliant bar staff are no longer there. Doubt I'd go there again.
Great pint and a friendly barmen. I have been in the day a few times and always had a great pint and a warm welcome from all the bar staff.
Great pub fantastic young lady serving. Can't fault the place. Keep up the good work.
