About This Pub
Ah, The Belmore at Sale, what a gem it is! From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, this place really knows how to deliver a top-notch experience. The food stands out as a real highlight – folks are raving about the fresh, flavoursome dishes, from the slow-braised pork belly to those generous Sunday roasts that could easily become your new weekend tradition. Pair that with a pint of Manchester Pale Ale in their stylish bar or soak up the summer vibes in the beer garden, and you've got yourself a proper relaxing evening. The staff are another big plus; they're incredibly friendly and go the extra mile, whether you're just nipping in for dinner or sorting out a special do like a wedding reception. And if you're looking for a place to crash, the rooms are spot on – think modern comforts with thoughtful touches that make you feel pampered without breaking the bank. Of course, it's not without its little niggles; the hours can be a bit unclear, so you might want to double-check before heading out, and it has that hotel-pub vibe which could feel a tad more polished than your average local haunt. All in all, though, it's a solid choice for anyone wanting a balanced mix of good grub, drinks, and a welcoming atmosphere – I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're in the Sale area.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely brilliant – think fresh, seasonal dishes like pan-fried sea bass or that legendary homemade three cheese and onion pie, and don't even get me started on their unbeatable Sunday roasts with bottomless Yorkshire puds!
-
The staff are so welcoming and attentive; they've got that knack for making you feel right at home, whether you're popping in for a pint or hosting a special event like a wedding.
-
The rooms are a real treat if you're staying over – modern, comfy, and packed with handy features like USB ports everywhere and spotless bathrooms, perfect for a relaxing break near Manchester.
-
It's got a lovely atmosphere, with a stylish bar offering great beers like Manchester Pale Ale and a beer garden that's ideal for enjoying a summer evening with friends.
Cons
-
The operating hours aren't clearly listed, which might leave you scratching your head if you're planning a visit and want to make sure it's open.
-
As it's also a hotel, it can feel a bit more formal than your typical cosy pub, so if you're after a laid-back, no-fuss local, it might not quite hit the spot.
-
With its focus on food and stays, the drinks selection, while good, doesn't seem to steal the show, so gin and wine enthusiasts might wish for a bit more variety.

Gorgeous old stone exterior with modern interior. Rooms are exceptionally well adapted to modern life. For example, both sides of the headboard have multiple USB ports for charging our modem devices. The room lighting is very well done. The overall decor is very pleasant.
The pub has excellent food and service.
Every staff member we have met in both the hotel and the pub have been friendly and accommodating.
My husband and I enjoyed the most delicious dinner at The Belmore. I had the roast chicken breast with gnocchi and my husband had the pork belly. Both dishes were extremely tasty - yummy fresh flavours! We sat outside under the trees and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere on a beautiful summer’s evening. We’ll definitely be back!
Highly recommend and rate this hotel and couldn't find fault in anything. The staff, in particular Mo, were amazing and made us feel very welcome. We had dinner here 2 nights and the food was top class, breakfast was also excellent.
Had our small wedding reception here, and they were very accommodating considering they were also hosting a wake of around 50 people on the same day.
When we arrived, the tables were already laid, awaiting our arrival.
Staff were always available to tend to our needs, and the service was very quick.
There was plenty of choice on the menu to cater for all palates.
The food was exceptional.
Many thanks to everyone at The Belmore
My family and I spent a few nights here two weeks ago.
Starting with the rooms, they were spotless! They had everything we needed. I stayed in the Frederick Suite and the room was stunning, with the main feature being the bathroom. It had everything we needed (plenty of towels, coffee and a hair dryer.)
The restaurant service was excellent too, we had a roast dinner and it was top draw and worth every penny because it was such beautiful quality.
The bar staff too were lovely, one particular man who was very polite and attentive served us for both nights. Again one of the best experiences I’ve had in a bar- food was always top quality too.
We also held a celebration of life service with the Belmore and everything went smoothly. The catering was excellent and was of very high quality since they make it themselves- we had clean platters everywhere! The staff also let us play music and display some pictures of our loved one so that was a nice touch. A special thank you to Dave who helped us organise everything and treated us like friends all throughout our experience. The day wouldn’t have been so special without the help of the Belmore staff so thank you all very much.
