About This Pub
You know, chatting about the Streatham Soul Club at the White Lion, it's got this real charm as a go-to spot for live music lovers. From what I've gathered from the buzz around, the music selection is top drawer – think heaps of those nostalgic 80s and 90s soul tracks that just pull you in and make for a brilliant night. Pair that with a buzzing atmosphere and staff who go out of their way to make you feel at ease, and you've got a place that's perfect for a catch-up with mates or diving into some events. Oh, and those happy hour deals? Absolute gems for keeping things affordable. But let's be straight, it's not all smooth sailing – some evenings, the crowd might come across as a tad standoffish, which could leave you feeling a bit on the outskirts if you're flying solo. Plus, that one DJ who loves to talk over the tunes can throw off the rhythm a touch. All in all, though, it's a solid choice for a night out if you're after good vibes and great music, just go in with your eyes open to the occasional hiccup.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The music is absolutely brilliant, with plenty of old school 80s and 90s vibes that really get the energy going and keep you on your feet.
-
The atmosphere is spot on for a live music bar, making it a proper fun spot for catching events and soaking up that soul club feel.
-
Staff are dead friendly and helpful, which makes the whole experience feel welcoming and relaxed.
-
Happy hour deals are a real highlight – affordable drinks that add to the enjoyment without breaking the bank.
-
The food looks and sounds fantastic, with options that seem to hit the spot for those who fancy a bite alongside the tunes.
Cons
-
The crowd can sometimes feel a bit unfriendly, especially if you're out on your own, which might put a damper on things.
-
One of the DJs tends to chat away a lot, which can interrupt the flow and make the music feel less seamless.
-
It's not always a sure bet for everyone; some folks are left undecided about coming back, as it might not live up to expectations every time.

I love to dance no matter what. The music was good (but one of the DJs thought he was on the radio too much talking) I went with a group of friends but if I went on my own the crowd was not that friendly. The staff were very friendly. The food looked good.
