About This Pub
Ah, Stratford Haven – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem, tucked away near Trent Bridge in Nottingham. I've got to say, the beer selection is a real highlight; they offer an impressive array of cask ales and craft options that would make any ale lover's day, and at prices that feel fair compared to the nearby spots. Pair that with the Baujis kitchen dishing out some seriously moreish Indian fusion – think spicy curries and burritos that add a fun twist to pub dining – and you've got a spot that's great for catching up with mates or enjoying a relaxed evening. The beer garden is another plus, with plenty of sheltered seating and heaters to make it cosy even when the weather's playing up. On the flip side, it does tend to get heaving, especially after matches, so you might find yourself queuing for a pint or struggling for a table. There are a few grumbles about the management and staff not always being on form, and if you're hankering for straightforward British classics, the menu's shift to fusion might not quite hit the mark. All in all, it's a solid choice for a pint and a bite, but perhaps best visited on a quieter day to fully soak it in.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The selection of beers is absolutely spot on, with a fantastic range of real ales, craft kegs, and even ciders that really hit the spot for any beer enthusiast.
-
The food from Baujis is a delightful surprise – their Indian fusion dishes like Bombay burritos and curries are packed with flavour and offer great variety for a casual meal.
-
It's got a charming, traditional vibe with a cosy interior and a lovely beer garden that's perfect for relaxing outdoors, especially with those heaters for chillier evenings.
-
The staff are generally efficient and friendly, often going the extra mile with recommendations and making newcomers feel welcome.
-
There are some brilliant deals and events, like half-price burritos and curry nights, which make it a wallet-friendly spot for a midweek treat.
Cons
-
It can get incredibly busy, particularly after events like cricket matches, which might make it tough to find a seat or get served quickly.
-
Some folks have mentioned the management and staff not being up to scratch, with complaints about the place feeling a bit run-down or not as well-maintained as it could be.
-
The food options have shifted away from traditional British fare, which might disappoint if you're after classic pub grub rather than Indian fusion.
-
Pictures online might not reflect the current setup, so you could arrive with certain expectations that aren't quite met.

Good vibe busy post county match super efficient staff, managed to get a table to enjoy a couple of decent pints, food smells lush will be back to try some
A proper English pub, great selection of beers. Real ales, popular lagers, and good selection of ciders. A place where you can chill with friends and family and enjoy good beer, conversation, and great food.
The bar has been in decline for years, poorly run and the pictures on tripadvisor are outdated.
No longer can you buy traditional British food.
The staff are the main issue in this place.
Service was great from Liv and Ashe! First time in Notts and will definitely be back. Thank you guys for your recommendations and guidance
This is a fabulous real ale pub. Can get very busy at times. The outdoor area is really nice with a variety of seating and heaters in the booths (which actually do work well). Always a good range of beers etc on offer at very good prices (especially when compared to the other places nearby).
