About This Pub
You know, when you pop into Signal Box in Coventry, it's got that easy-going pub charm that's just perfect for a casual catch-up over drinks or a bite. The deals are brilliant – think hearty meals for a tenner, which makes it dead accessible for anyone watching their spend. Most people are chuffed with the food, like those tasty burgers and wings that come out quick and full of flavour, and the staff often go the extra mile to make you feel welcome, especially during busy sports events like the Women's Euros. It's well set up for families too, with outdoor play and other handy facilities, so it's not just about the adults. But, to keep it real, it's not all smooth sailing; there are tales of dodgy food that doesn't live up to the hype, like dishes going cold or not tasting great, and a few run-ins with unhelpful service or even hygiene slip-ups that could spoil your evening. All in all, with a solid average rating, it's worth giving it a go if you're nearby – just go in with an open mind and you'll likely have a decent time.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The prices are spot on – you can tuck into some cracking meals for just a tenner, making it a wallet-friendly spot for a good night out.
-
The staff are often lovely and welcoming, always up for a chat and making you feel right at home, especially the bar team who handle the hustle with a smile.
-
The food hits the mark for most, with delicious burgers, wings, and even a standout vanilla milkshake that folks can't stop raving about.
-
It's a family-friendly haven with great facilities like outdoor play areas and disabled access, perfect for a relaxed day with the little ones.
-
They've got live sports on the telly, like the Women's Euros, so it's a top choice for catching the big games in a buzzing atmosphere.
Cons
-
Some meals have fallen short, like food that's gone cold or just not up to scratch, leaving a few disappointed after their visit.
-
There have been gripes about hygiene, such as dirty glasses with marks on them, which can really put a damper on things.
-
Not all staff are on form – a couple of reviews mentioned unhelpful service, like not bringing cutlery, which made for an awkward meal.
-
It's got a mixed bag of experiences overall, with the odd visit feeling a bit lacklustre despite the generally affordable vibe.

Food was some of the worst I’ve ever seen and definitely had
Staff didn’t even offer to bring cutlery over with our meals
So we had a 10/15 minute wait to get our own as the already awful food went cold
Mouth marks all over the glasses we were given
All staff bar one had a face like a smacked arse
And the atmosphere or lack there of was not great and certainly not aided by the issues listed above
The cost of the meals compared to the quality was inadequate also
1/10 is being generous
*this is just my personal opinion*
*this was just our experience*
*5 of us went and we all thought the same*
Came here with some friends and had some incredible food. The food came quickly and tasted delicious.
I also had the most incredible vanilla milkshake.
In all, it’s very well priced and the staff are very lovely. Would definitely recommend.
Lovely place to eat and drink and all staff are very welcoming. Had lunch here again today and it was perfect as always.
The young man behind the bar was very friendly and helpful.
Really lovely place and the staff were really friendly.
Food was nice and timely.
We had 4 burgers and we all loved them.
They were lovely and tasty and not dry.
The wings, strips and nuggets were also lovely.
We recommend the strips and Korean sauce, it was our favourite.
Very busy local pub for the area... Great hungry horse prices... Staff were extreamly busy but still serving with politeness and courtesy... The 2 gents serving were doing a bang up job considering the rush on the the bar and the large complicated orders... Didn't get their names.
This didn't phase the kitchen however, the food came out quickly, very hot and most importantly correct 👍🏻
The young lady waiting tables (I think her name Courtney ?) She was very polite and keeping the tables fresh and clean ready for the next customers... She fetched me some bags to take bits home.
All in all a great all round service... Very pleased.
