About This Pub
Ah, Scruffy Murphys, what a lovely little find in Blackpool! I've got to say, if you're after a proper Irish pub experience, this place really delivers. The food stands out as a highlight – think comforting homemade meals like Irish stew or a cracking cheese and onion pie, all served up fresh and tasty without costing a fortune. It's that kind of spot where you can pop in for a quick Sunday lunch or linger over a pint, soaking up the traditional decor and eclectic music that keeps the energy just right. The staff are genuinely friendly, making conversations easy and adding to the welcoming feel, especially if you chat with someone like Karen the cook who's got some great stories. On the flip side, the beer choices are a bit limited, so if you're a real ale enthusiast, you might not find as much variety as you'd hope. And while it's open most days from around 11am, the hours listed can be a tad confusing, so planning ahead is a good idea. Overall, it's a gem for anyone wanting a relaxed, affordable night out – I'd definitely recommend giving it a go if you're in the area, as the positives far outweigh the minor niggles.
Pros and Cons

-
It has a proper Irish atmosphere with cosy wooden booths, traditional decor, and an eclectic playlist that keeps things lively and fun.

The beer selection isn't the most varied; you might find yourself sticking to a few options rather than discovering something new.
-
Opening hours can seem a bit inconsistent based on what's listed, so it's worth double-checking to avoid any surprises.

Granny Murphy’s Irish Kitchen makes the best home cooked food in Blackpool. Today I had the Cheese and Onion Pie, it was delicious, highly recommend!
Went in yesterday for Sunday lunch before leaving for home. Had a beautiful meal for £10. Met Karen the cook. She was born in same part if Glasgow that I was born. Her Gran taught her to cook, she taught her well. Give it a go.
Decent Irish Bar up near the Blackpool Tower. Popped in for a pint on our pub crawl. Decent Irish atmosphere with the music, decoration, and wooden style booths and tables. Service friendly enough. Decent enough pint of Guinness at £4.90 (if I remember correctly) pour was tidy and tasted great. Even got a 4-leaf clover in the head.
I have seem better on other reviews, but I only had the one, so it would be unfair to pass full judgement. Pints of Madri at £4.70 was also decent.
Would recommend swinging by.
A lovely traditional Irish pub. Food is homemade, simple but delicious and very reasonable. I had the Irish stew and was very impressed by the size and taste and my wife had the burger which was good too. Drinks were cheap and of good quality.
Man! I love this place! It has the most eclectic playlist or jukebox. From black Sabbath to David Sylvian... to Prince. Not the greatest choice of beers. I drunk 330ml Peronis for £3.70. staff are great and patrons are friendly. Desire by U2 on the jukebox.. maybe... I'll have another
