About This Pub

Ah, Schooners – it's one of those cosy spots down by the Cleethorpes seafront that really hits the mark for a relaxed pint or a catch-up with mates. From what I've gathered from the buzz around, the staff are absolute gems, always going the extra mile to make you feel welcome, and it's just the ticket if you're into sports with all those screens showing the action. Throw in being dog-friendly and some cracking food and cocktails at fair prices, plus little extras like discount cards and free pool days, and you've got a place that fosters a proper community feel. On the flip side, it's a shame about the confusion with the non-smoking rules – those ashtrays on the tables might leave you scratching your head – and that step up to the beer garden has tripped more than a few, so you'd want to tread carefully. The men's toilet setup isn't ideal either, with the hand dryer in a bit of an odd spot. All in all, with its strong reputation, it's a solid choice for a night out, but keeping an eye on those niggles will make for a smoother visit.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly welcoming and provide fantastic service, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • It's a brilliant spot for sports fans with plenty of TVs showing the games, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere.
  • They're super dog-friendly, which is a real bonus if you're popping in with your four-legged mate.
  • The food and cocktails are tasty and well-presented, with reasonable prices that won't break the bank.
  • There's a great community vibe with perks like discount cards for locals and fun events such as free pool days.
Cons
  • There's a bit of confusion around the non-smoking policy, as ashtrays on tables might give mixed signals.
  • The top step in the upstairs beer garden is a trip hazard – I've heard a few folks have stumbled there, so do watch your step.
  • The hand dryer in the men's toilet is awkwardly positioned next to the urinal, which could make things a tad uncomfortable.

Lovely sports bar right on the seafront. Plenty of tvs for the sport. Dog friendly and really pleasant bar staff. If your a local a 10% discount card available as well. Great atmosphere and i was lucky enough to go on a free pool day.
