About This Pub
Ah, Rugby Tap – what a cracking little spot it is! I've got to say, chatting about this place feels like sharing a pint with mates over a quiet evening. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the staff are absolute stars; they're so welcoming and chatty that you'll feel like you're catching up with old friends right away. The real highlight is their range of locally brewed beers and ales, served straight from the cask, with plenty of craft options and even some standout alcohol-free choices that keep things fresh and exciting. It's got that cosy, community-driven feel that's just perfect for unwinding, and being dog-friendly means you can bring the whole gang along. Prices are spot on too – inexpensive without skimping on quality, so you can enjoy a few rounds without worrying about the tab. On the flip side, though, if you're someone who's sampled a lot of brews, you might find the selection doesn't always throw in many new surprises, which could be a tad disappointing. Plus, with it being a smaller venue, it does get lively and packed at times, so if you're after a peaceful corner, you might have to time your visit just right. And watch out for those varying opening hours; it's open most days, but it's worth confirming to avoid turning up to a closed door. All in all, it's a solid choice for anyone in Rugby looking for a genuine, down-to-earth pub experience – the high ratings speak for themselves, and I'd definitely recommend giving it a go for a balanced mix of good vibes and great drinks.

-
Being in the town centre and near transport links makes it super convenient to pop in after work or while exploring Rugby.
Cons
-
The beer selection, while great overall, might not always have many surprises for seasoned ale enthusiasts who've tried a lot already, so it could feel a bit familiar at times.
-
It's a small space, which means it can get quite busy and bustling on popular nights, making it tricky to find a seat if you're after a more relaxed vibe.
-
The opening hours seem to vary a bit, which might catch you out if you're planning a visit – double-check before you go to avoid disappointment.

Friendly staff. Good choice of gravity fed real ales and wide choice of craft in vans and bottles. Busy and bustling. Liked it.
Best pub in Rugby! Small and cosy, with great beers on tap that are reasonably priced and change every week. Lovely staff and a great atmosphere.
Nice little craft ale bar. Didn't have 2 many beers I'd not already tried but a good selection.
Great place to drink. Staff could not be friendlier, the beers change regularly and are always of the highest quality. Best alcohol free selection I have seen. A wide variety of craft beers and traditional ales. Dog friendly too!
The owner was great. I came in visiting rugby in between train connections to learn more about how the sport was made and wanted a souvenir to give to a rugby crazed friend. He gave me a rugby pint glass free of charge and only asked if I could donate cash for charity. Unfortunately, I only had US dollars and he still insisted that I have the glass for free. I kept trying to give him money via Apple Pay or US dollars to which he refused but after finding out he was going to America soon, I made him take my US dollars and he said he would donate to a charity there. Absolute class owner who really cares about his customers, even ones that just pop in for a chat and a random request like mine was. Don’t have enough good words to say about him! P.S. I will donate to the next charity I see! :)
