About This Pub
You know, I had a great time at the Rose of Denmark the other day, and it's quickly become one of those places you'd want to tell your mates about. The staff, particularly Tony, are just top-notch – always up for a chat and making sure you're looked after, which really sets the tone for a welcoming evening. Those Wednesday quiz nights are an absolute blast, packed with fun and a good mix of people, and the ales are spot on, with a lovely variety that's perfectly poured every time. It's clear from the buzz that folks are loving the refreshed look since it reopened. On the flip side, it's a bit annoying that there's no website to quickly check what's on or get more info, and the opening times look a bit muddled, which might catch you out if you're planning ahead. All in all, it's a solid choice for a laid-back night out, but worth double-checking the details before you head over.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are absolutely brilliant, especially Tony who's always welcoming and makes everyone feel right at home.
-
The Wednesday quiz nights are a real highlight – full of laughs and one of the best I've come across in Bristol.
-
They've got a cracking selection of ales, like Bass, Butty Bach, and Timothy Taylor Landlord, all kept to perfection.
-
The atmosphere is so relaxed and inviting, especially since the refurb – it's turned into a proper gem of a spot.
Cons
-
There's no website listed, which makes it a bit of a faff to check out details like the menu or events online.
-
The operating hours seem a tad confusing from what's available, with multiple listings that might leave you scratching your head about when it's open.

Ever since it reopened, The Rose has become such a gem of a place. The vibe is relaxed and welcoming, with lovely staff who always make you feel at home—Tony especially stands out, he’s brilliant.
The Wednesday quiz nights are so much fun and easily one of the best around. Great mix of laughs and a bit of competition. I’m more into wine and spirits, and there’s a fab selection (my partner rates the beer too).
It’s the perfect spot for a casual night out. Highly recommend!

Visited the Rose of Denmark this weekend and will definitely be going back. It looks amazing since the refurb and they have a good selection of Ales, Bass, Butty Bach and Timothy Taylor Landlord. I couldn’t decide which I wanted so it meant I had to have all three! Perfectly kept Ales 10/10. The Barman (Tony) was ensuring everyone’s needs were met and always had a smile on his face. A true delight in creating a welcoming atmosphere. A credit to the pub!
