About This Pub

Ah, let me tell you about Roni's Restaurant – it's one of those places that really stands out in Bishop's Stortford for a proper fine dining experience. From what I've gathered, the staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome; they're incredibly attentive and handle everything with such grace, whether it's a birthday bash or just a nice evening out. The food is another winner – think fresh, seasonal dishes that are packed with flavour, and they've got options for everyone, including some lovely vegan choices. It's all served in this elegant setting that just adds to the charm, making it ideal for those occasions when you want to impress or celebrate something special. On the flip side, it does lean towards the more formal end, so if you're in the mood for something laid-back, like a simple meal with mates, it might not quite hit the spot. Plus, with limited opening hours and potentially higher prices, it's probably best saved for those treat-yourself moments rather than everyday stops. Overall, it's a fantastic spot if you're up for a bit of indulgence, and I'd say it's well worth a visit for anyone looking to enjoy a memorable meal without the hustle and bustle.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The service is absolutely top-notch – it's warm, attentive, and makes you feel truly special, especially for birthdays or other celebrations.
  • The food is a real highlight; fresh, seasonal ingredients and a variety of menus including vegan options make for a delicious and authentic dining experience.
  • It's got a lovely, elegant ambiance with stylish decor that sets the mood perfectly for a memorable night out.
  • They handle private dining and larger groups brilliantly, giving you that personal touch without feeling overcrowded.
Cons
  • It might feel a tad formal for a casual get-together, so if you're after something relaxed like a quick pint and chat, this could be a bit too upscale.
  • With it only open six days a week and closing fairly early, it doesn't lend itself to spontaneous late-night visits.
  • Being a fine dining spot, it could be on the pricier side, which might not suit everyone's budget for regular outings.

We booked Ronib to celebrate my friend's birthday, and I'm quite surprised there's a decent fine dining restaurant in the town. The service of Roni is amazing and I rarely have such experience from other restaurant (even in London). The waiter serve us in a super high standard and manner, and all of us are impressed by the service. Moreover, there are a large variety of food available and there are too many great options. Turns out we ordered 2 starter, 1 rissto, 1 pasta, 1 fish and 1 pork belly. I'd say the food quality is similar to those that awarded AA Rosette / one star Michelin. I'm sure the chef spent great effort to design each meal and demonstrate the feature of each food. If you're living the Northern part of London / Cambridge, I highly recommend you to have a try during weekend.

**Review for Ronnie's Restaurant in Essex** I recently had the pleasure of dining at **Ronnie's Restaurant** in Essex, and it was a truly exceptional experience from start to finish. The ambiance of the restaurant is both elegant and modern, with lush green plants and stylish decor that creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. The service was impeccable, with the staff being attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. For starters, I had the **prawn cocktail**, which was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. It was the perfect way to begin the meal. For my main course, I opted for the **lamb cutlets**, which were cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The accompanying sides of **parmesan chips**, **asparagus**, and **mushrooms** were equally delicious and complemented the lamb wonderfully. My two friends also thoroughly enjoyed their meals. One had a **beef pasta dish**, which was rich and hearty, while the other chose a different style of lamb that was equally succulent but prepared with a unique twist. Both dishes were beautifully plated and received rave reviews from my companions. The attention to detail in both the food presentation and flavors is what sets Ronnie's apart. As seen in the photo, each dish looked as good as it tasted, with vibrant colors and generous portions that left us all satisfied but not overly full. The drinks were also on point—refreshing and well-paired with our meals. Overall, Ronnie's Restaurant is easily one of the nicest restaurants I've had the pleasure of visiting, not just in Essex but around the world. If you're looking for superb food, excellent service, and a great dining experience, I highly recommend giving this place a try. It's definitely a gem that stands out in both quality and atmosphere!

I went recently for my mum's 70th birthday. There were 16 of us so we had one of the rooms upstairs to ourselves. It was great to have the space, but the room isn't completely closed off so you still feel like you're a part of the restaurant atmosphere. The service was impeccable. Our waiter Kamil was amazing. He was really great at making sure the gf people were catered for and checked everything they ordered was suitable. He was patient with our big group and was always nearby if we needed anything. The food was incredible! We all loved our meals 🤤
