About This Pub
Oh, the Pier Hotel in Gorleston-on-Sea is just the ticket if you're after a proper coastal escape – it's right there by the beach, with waves crashing nearby and that fresh sea air making everything feel a bit more magical. From what I've gathered from chats with others, the food really hits the spot; think hearty bar meals whipped up by skilled chefs, and they've got options for different tastes, like tasty breakfasts or a scrumptious coffee and cake. The atmosphere in the Beach Bar and wine bar is spot on, with a bright, elegant feel that draws in locals and visitors alike for a good natter over a meal. On the downside, though, there have been a few tales of staff not being as warm as you'd hope, which can sour the experience a touch, and some prices feel a bit steep for what you get – it's worth checking the menu first to avoid any surprises. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed day out, especially if you're keen on that seaside charm, but it's best to go in with a balanced view so you can enjoy the highs and navigate the lows.

We didnt stay here so i cant comment on the rooms.
We popped in to grab a coffee and tea before our walk along thr beach,
When walking inside a lady with brown hair about 5ft 5 with glasses very rudley asked me what i was doing there, i informed her id like to purchase a coffee, she then directed me to. The bar area where she stood right next to me like i was going to rob the place.
Now i understand certain places have certain dress codes but as i was dressed very smart and appropriately (not like a road man or in a tracksuit) i wouldnt have expected to recieve this kind of treatment.
My partner asked to use the toilet to wich she escorted him and waited outside of them for him to come out.
She was very very judgemental and assumed that were were there to cause trouble or something.
What is it these days with establishments treating you like your rubbish off the street,
Pier hotel and bar you can do better, treat people as you would like to be treated.
Just remember as fast as you got on that pedalstool that now makes you feel superior to everyone you can be knocked off just as fast,
A very lovely place, my wife and I enjoyed very much.
We had a good breakfast in the lovely restaurant area, my wife's dietary issues were well catered for.
There was a great welcoming atmosphere in the bar area, where we also ate a tasty meal.
Lovely location right on Gorleston Beach. We had lunch. The food was delicious with great portions. Staff very friendly. Lovely decor
Well, just in here at the minute having lunch.
And I have to say although the lunch was passable, the prices and service leave little to be desired.
I had what is probably the most expensive jacket potato In the world at £18.80, I chose cheese, and tuna and mayonnaise.
When it came the amount of plastic tasteless cheese in the little serving bowl was so little I asked for another helping, to which I was horrified to be charged another £2.
I was starving, and paid it, but really??
I don’t get how we are clearly robbed of our hard earnt £, who makes up these prices, and who makes up the rules by charging another £2 for a few strands of grated cheese, whilst sat at a grubby, worn table.
London prices in Gorleston…. No wonder it wasn’t busy!!!!
A great restaurant on the pier- the staff were friendly and accommodating. The food was excellent; we had fish and chips, steak and ale pie and skate wing - all very fresh and cooked…. Be sure to go outside and watch the waves furiously slapping on the pier- it is a sight to behold. The beach is long and wide. Highly recommended.
