About This Pub

Ah, O'Gradys – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem in Braintree, you know? From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this really inviting atmosphere that makes you feel welcome straight away, and the staff go above and beyond to make sure you're looked after, almost like you're catching up with old mates. Folks rave about the great events they've got on, like the Sunday bingo or hosting birthdays, which adds a fun twist to a night out. The beer garden is a real highlight, especially if you're with the family, as it's got a nice play area for the little ones, and everything's so reasonably priced that you won't end up breaking the bank. On the flip side, it's not the largest spot, so if you're after somewhere with more space or you're in a big group, those narrow bits might make it feel a tad snug. Plus, with not many recent reviews, it could be quieter than you'd expect sometimes. All in all, it's a solid choice for a laid-back evening – I'd say give it a go if you're in the area and fancy a no-fuss pint or a catch-up.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The atmosphere is so warm and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant – friendly and attentive, treating everyone like part of the family.
  • Prices are spot on for a good night out, with reasonably priced drinks and great value overall.
  • It's a fantastic spot for events and celebrations, like birthdays or their Sunday bingo, adding a fun vibe.
  • The beer garden is lovely, perfect for families with a children's play area, making it ideal for sunny days.
Cons
  • The pub is on the smaller side with some narrow sections, which might feel a bit cramped if it's busy.
  • It doesn't seem to have much recent buzz, as there haven't been many new reviews lately.
  • Being a short walk out of the town centre, it might not be the most convenient for everyone.

Not the biggest of pubs, two big ends to the pub ,one houses the pool table with a narrow section in the middle ! .Nice children's play area at the rear .Subsidised bar prices ! .
