About This Pub

Ah, the Nags Head – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper community hub in Welling, you know? From what I've gathered from folks' experiences, the staff go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome, whether you're popping in for a quick drink or settling in for a full meal. The drinks selection is spot on, with plenty of draught options to please all tastes, and that beer garden out back is a real treat on a sunny day. Plus, it's ace for sports fans, with all the big games on the telly and events like the Women's Euros drawing in a cheerful crowd. On the flip side, though, it can get a bit heaving at times, which might mean waiting a tad longer for your round, and while the food's solid and satisfying, it's your classic pub nosh without any fancy surprises. Overall, it's a solid choice for a laid-back evening – I'd say give it a try if you're in the area, as the positives far outweigh the minor niggles, and you'll likely leave with a smile.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
  • They've got a fantastic selection of drinks on draught, including tasty options like blood orange cider that really hit the spot.
  • The pub's been newly renovated, so it's spacious and looks smart, with a lovely beer garden out back for when the weather's nice.
  • Food is spot on – proper pub grub that's hot, fresh, and perfect for a casual meal with family or mates.
  • It's brilliant for watching sports, with Sky and TNT, and they even host events like the Women's Euros, so you can catch all the action in a lively atmosphere.
Cons
  • There might be the odd off day with service, as one visit seemed to have a hiccup, though it's generally reliable.
  • It can get quite busy during peak times or events, which might make it a bit tricky to find a seat or get served quickly.
  • While the food's good, it's standard pub fare, so if you're after something more adventurous, you might find it a tad ordinary.

Came in on a Bank Holiday with some friends who live in the area. Really nice, spacious pub. Had a great selection on draught, including my favourite blood orange cider! Quick to get a pint and staff were really friendly! Great beer garden out back too!

We had a wonderful time with our little daughter at the Nags Head. Arthur and the team was very welcoming and super nice. The food arrived quickly, was lovely, hot and fresh. Definitely a great experience and would recommend if you are in welling. The pub is newly renovated and looks very smart. Also has a nice outdoor area and parking!

I’d like to thank Artur, Morgan and the entire team at The Nags for putting on a fantastic evening for me to celebrate my 50th Birthday. Nothing was too much trouble from start to finish. The food was amazing and everyone had such a great time. I had approx 50 guests and we were given our own section, so I was able to decorate the area and I also added my cake to the buffet table. I’d highly recommend anyone wanting to arrange a special celebration…..with the added bonus of a DJ on Friday and Saturday nights too. Thank you all so much. x

I often Pop into the Nags Head when in the area visiting family. Been here a few times since early this year, the pub has been renovated and looks smart. The food (pub grub) is generally good and the staff are friendly. A great place to go on your own and/or you want to watch sports. However on this visit (Monday) the cook didn't know how to cook a medium rare Sirloin steak I ordered. The steak was lower grade (utility cut). Maybe stick to ordering pub style grub and burgers instead. Beer on tap is Ok. Greene King bottle. beers available.
