About This Pub
Ah, Mikado Pheasant – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a second home, you know? From what I've gathered from folks' chats online, the staff are the real stars here; they're so welcoming and chatty that you'll feel like you've known them forever. The place itself is immaculately kept, with a fresh decor that makes it a pleasure to settle in for a pint or two. They've nailed the drinks selection too – plenty of options at prices that won't break the bank, and it's spot-on for families or groups looking for a relaxed spot. Plus, the entertainment's a highlight; think lively nights with things like Abba tributes or even hiring out that spacious hall for a bargain, which is brilliant for birthdays or community dos. On the flip side, the car park's a bit of a downer – it's handy for parking, but it could use some TLC to make the first impression as good as the rest. And while the location might not be everyone's cup of tea, once you're through the door, it's all about that community feel. Overall, it's a solid choice for a night out, with more ups than downs, and I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're in the area and fancy a proper pub experience.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are absolutely lovely and make you feel right at home, always with a warm welcome and a chat.
-
It's spotlessly clean inside, with everything from the bar to the tables looking fresh and well-kept.
-
They've got a cracking selection of drinks at reasonable prices, perfect for a casual catch-up with mates.
-
Loads of fun extras like a pool table, entertainment nights such as Abba tributes, and even a large hall you can hire cheaply for parties or events.
-
It's family-friendly, which is great if you're popping in with the little ones, and the atmosphere is welcoming for all.
Cons
-
The car park could do with a bit of sprucing up; it's functional but not exactly inviting at the moment.
-
Some folks might be put off by the location, as it's not in the most central spot, though once you're inside, it's worth it.

Another friendly pub big car park pool table and friendly staff. They have a large hall you can rent for next to nothing I want to say like from £50 which is great for events like birthdays etc
The people that frequent are extreamly friendly
Lovely pub. Iced coffees is to die for. Can't wait for next visit to see Abba tribute act.
Was not sure due to the location. But serves a decent pint. Very clean and tidy. Clean glasses like new. Bar and tables clean and tidy. The car park could do with some TLC but apart from that the pub was good and clean. Offered a good range of drinks stock. Well done bar staff a great job.
I have been a few times since the re opening of the pub. . it's a very friendly and welcoming pub. A very good selection of drinks. At a reasonable price. The bar staff. Are fantastic. Called in for light lunch to see how it looks inside now the new landlords have taken over.
It's newly decorated and welcoming.
We will definitely return and we are looking forward to seeing it become a part of the community again.
