About This Pub

Ah, Meadow Farm – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem in Sheffield, you know? From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the staff are the real stars; they're always chipping in with a smile and making sure everything runs smoothly, whether it's helping with gluten-free options or just having a laugh. The carvery is spot on – think juicy roasts and those buttery Yorkshires that leave you properly satisfied – and don't even get me started on the cakes; they're massive and utterly moreish, perfect for rounding off a meal. It's got that traditional feel with a vibrant atmosphere, and the family-friendly setup with play areas means it's brilliant for bringing the kids along, but they've thoughtfully added an adult-only zone for when you want a bit of quiet time with friends. On the flip side, it's not everyone's cup of tea food-wise; one person mentioned it wasn't quite up to their standards, though their partner and little ones had a great time, so it might depend on what you're in the mood for. Overall, with a solid 4.2 rating from loads of folks, it's a solid choice for a casual get-together – affordable, accessible, and just a nice place to unwind without breaking the bank.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely brilliant – always friendly and go out of their way to make you feel welcome, like chatting with old mates.
  • The food is a real highlight, especially the carvery and those massive chocolate cakes; they're spot on for a hearty, satisfying meal.
  • It's super family-friendly with an outdoor play area and indoor options, making it easy for families to relax and enjoy.
  • There's a nice adult-only section for a bit of peace if you fancy a quieter catch-up over drinks.
  • Great value for money with an inexpensive price tag, and plenty of facilities like disabled access and a car park to make visits hassle-free.
Cons
  • The food doesn't always hit the mark for everyone; one person found it just okay compared to what they're used to, though their family loved it.
  • It can get a bit lively with families around, which might not suit those after a really tranquil spot.
  • Based on the odd review, portions or specific tastes might not wow every visitor, even if the cakes are a standout.

Been coming here for years and never had a bad experience. Bob the carvery chef is always so friendly and helpful. I used to bring a client and he went to great trouble to make him feel special. Food is always delicious Bar staff are all friendly. Love that there is an adult only section

A delectable meal with outstanding service. Both and my lovely grandma had a carvery here and it was LUSCIOUS. A special thanks to Jennifer for being so kind and outstanding in her field. She was ever so cheerful and I never saw her without a smile on her face. 10/10 would come here again!!

Had a lovely lunch today with the 5 of us. Stacey was particularly mindful when taking care of us, making us feel very welcome and letting us change tables at the last minute. She also made sure I knew how to order my meal gluten-free. I had a good laugh at the ultimate coke zero, 2 whole pints only for an extra 50p than a pint! Nice establishment, very friendly staff, we all enjoyed our meal.

Love meadow farm. The atmosphere is always really lovely and it's a very friendly environment regardless of age. I remember being there and playing with friends as a kid, and now as an adult I can get a seat away from the kid's area and have a lovely meal in a quieter area. I came last night when the carvery was soon closing and was really pleasantly surprised by good meat, hot gravy and a wide selection of veg despite coming to the end of the day. The selection of ice cream flavours they have are lovely. Overall, feels like home and definitely worth a visit if you're hungry.

With the food im used to I cant rate this anymore than a 3 star.. however, my partner and kids enjoyed it. AND THEY DO THE BEST CAKES EVER. The best thing about this place is their chocolate cakes they are amazing. And huge! My daughter loved the out door play area. I paid just under £10 for a chicken conbo meal.. it came with chicken strips and "two" chicken breast and fries.. it wasn't really 2 breast but more like half of a breast cut into 2 big chunks.. The food itself wasn't anything to remember or brag about. It was more like fridge freezer food but was told after that this is just how pub food is. So based on that I can't give a top score. The dessert range is good but was abit put off when I seen that they staff just got them out of the fridge already boxed up... so made me question how fresh they are. If your into your bland food and carvery than yes this is the place for you... but food me I didn't see anything on the menu that appealed to me so just went with the freezer food option.
