About This Pub
Ah, the Magnet Tavern – it's one of those places that really sticks in your mind for all the right reasons. From what I've gathered from the reviews, the folks running it, like Neil and Michelle, go above and beyond to make sure everyone has a cracking time; they're described as amazing hosts who create a fantastic atmosphere that's just buzzing with good energy. Whether you're popping in for a pint or staying in one of the comfy rooms, it's clear that cleanliness and little touches like free WiFi and tea makers add a nice homely feel. And let's not forget the free pool and darts on weekends – that's a brilliant way to keep things lively without any extra cost. On the flip side, though, parking's a bit of a letdown; it's not on-site, costs a few quid, and you can't book it, which might put a dampener on things if you're driving in. Plus, with no specific hours listed and the online info feeling a bit sparse, it could be hard to coordinate a visit, especially if you're travelling from somewhere like Skegness. Overall, it's a solid spot for a relaxed get-together, but I'd say it's best for those who don't mind sorting out the practical bits themselves – give it a go if you're after genuine hospitality, but keep an eye on the details to avoid any surprises.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff at the Magnet Tavern are absolutely brilliant – they're so friendly and welcoming, making every visit feel like catching up with old mates.
-
It's got a fantastic atmosphere, with free pool and darts on weekends, which is perfect for a fun night out without breaking the bank.
-
If you're looking to stay over, the rooms are clean and comfy, complete with free WiFi and tea or coffee makers to make you feel right at home.
-
The overall vibe is spot on, with glowing reviews highlighting the lovely hosts and a clean, inviting space that's great for a relaxed evening.
Cons
-
Parking can be a bit of a nuisance – it's public, costs £3 a day, and you can't reserve it, so you might end up faffing about on arrival.
-
There's no clear info on operating hours, which could make it tricky to plan a trip, especially if you're coming from further afield like Skegness.
-
The online presence feels a tad outdated and repetitive, and since it's not claimed on Google, you might not get the latest updates on what's happening.
