About This Pub

You know, when I think about Lock & Quay, it just feels like one of those pubs that really gets the community spirit right – it's tucked away in Bootle, right by the canal, and it's got this inviting atmosphere that draws you in. From what I've heard from folks who've been, it's brilliant for a casual get-together; they've got outdoor spaces perfect for a sunny afternoon pint, and they're always hosting fun things like music festivals or cheese and wine evenings that keep the energy up. It's great seeing how they cater to everyone, whether you're there with the family, your dog, or just popping in for a chat. On the flip side, it is a bit of a shame about the occasional sound issues at events, as that can take the edge off an otherwise top-notch experience, but overall, it's a place I'd happily recommend for a relaxed night out with mates.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • It's a proper community hub with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel right at home.
  • They're super dog-friendly, so you can bring your four-legged mate along without any fuss.
  • Loads of events on offer, like music festivals and cheese and wine nights, keeping things lively and fun.
  • The outdoor areas are brilliant, especially being right by the Leeds Liverpool Canal for a bit of fresh air.
  • Staff and the crowd are incredibly friendly, and the prices for food and drink are spot on – nothing too steep.
Cons
  • There can be the odd hiccup with sound at events, like not hearing the music clearly, which might spoil the moment a tad.

Was there for music festival and had a great day. Kids had a ball, atmosphere was great & besides issue with sound (couldn't really hear at times), music was great. Love the fact it's dog friendly as well 🥰

Excellent fun at the Lock and Quay music festival on Saturday. My kids and partner absolutely loved it, especially the bucking bronco which was free for everyone to go on. The horse rides were a great idea and we were so lucky with the weather and the use of the field at the back too. Thanks for arranging it all too.
