About This Pub
So, I've been having a look at Lea Gate in Preston, and it's one of those Hungry Horse spots that's ideal for an easy-going evening without breaking the bank. You know, it's tucked away in a quiet woodland area, just a short drive from the town centre, which makes it a lovely escape for a meal and a drink. They've got some cracking deals, like tucking into selected dishes for just ten quid on weekdays, and the menu's full of classics that hit the spot – think crispy fish and chips or their grilled favourites. From what folks are saying, when it's good, it's really good; you get quick service and helpful staff who make you feel right at home, plus it's family-oriented with outdoor play and other handy facilities. But, let's be honest, it's not all smooth sailing – some have had a rough time with the kitchen closing unexpectedly or waiting ages for desserts, which can put a dampener on things. A couple of reviews mentioned food that didn't quite live up to the hype, like overly seasoned dishes that were hard to enjoy. Still, with an overall rating hovering around four stars from plenty of visits, it's clear there are more wins than losses here. If you're after an inexpensive spot for a casual get-together, I'd say give it a go, but maybe plan ahead and keep an eye on the time to avoid any hitches – that way, you can focus on the good bits and have a proper laugh with mates.

Well got told food was still being served (8:20) then server said that the kitchen is closed. However i witnessed people ordering at the bar and could see the screen with the orders on and food still exiting the bar at 9:00 pm witch cut deeply and pissed me off
Ordered mains, sides, kids meal deal and dessert food arrived quickly however was then left for well over an hour and noone had come to clear table and bring dessert had to go back to bar to find out what had happened.
Quickly came and cleared table and brought dessert.
Was very irritated by all this given that there was only us and 1 or 2 other tables it was only when we were eventually leaving that it was getting busy.
Service was poor and very disappointing.
I have been here multiple times and on every occasion i have had an excellent meal, the staff are very pleasant and helpful. The food quality really is fantastic no matter what you order. Never a very long wait time and always comes exactly how i imagined it.
Very disappointed as I went last night and ordered 2 lots of salt pepper chicken and 1 set of chicken wings and 2 lots of salt pepper fries and it was practically inedible. The salt and pepper chicken and fries came with a bot of seasoning which felt like they could not be bothered to add it into the food, the seasoning for the chips and chicken had no flavour not even with the seasoning. The chicken wings was dry
I had chicken rib and onion fries. Such a wonderful yummy food and worth for the money. Also the atmosphere was pretty good and looks very clean and tidy. Moreover they served the food within 5 to 7 minutes I order. Thank you for the good service and I do suggest this restaurant and bar for my friends too.
