About This Pub

Ah, Kings Arms – what a lovely little find in Blyth! From what I've gathered from the chats and reviews, it's got that real community spirit going on; the staff are dead welcoming, and the locals make you feel like you're catching up with old mates over a pint. I love how they've thought of everything, from the roaring log burner on a frosty night to that charming garden for soaking up the sun in summer – it's just the ticket for a relaxed evening. The beer flows nicely, and those Tuesday nights sound like a riot, with karaoke on Fridays adding a fun twist. But, to be fair, not everyone's chuffed; one person reckoned it's gone a bit too modern, losing that authentic rustic edge with some tacky updates that don't quite hit the mark. Still, overall, it's a solid choice for a good night out, especially if you're up for events or a bit of cheer – I'd say give it a go and see for yourself!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff and locals are incredibly friendly, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • It's spotlessly clean with prompt service at the bar, so you won't be waiting around for your pint.
  • They've got a cosy log burner for those chilly evenings and a lovely garden to enjoy in the summer months.
  • The beer is top-notch, and little extras like the pork crackling are absolute winners.
  • It's brilliant for private functions, with amazing food, entertainment, and helpful setup – perfect for a special occasion.
  • Tuesdays and Fridays bring fun vibes with wild evenings and friendly karaoke nights.
Cons
  • Some feel it's lost its traditional rustic charm, with the interior coming across as a bit tacky and overly modernised.
  • Without a website or claimed online presence, it might be tricky to get the latest updates or book ahead.

Lovely little bar & great owners. The locals are really friendly & love the log burner on cold days. The pork crackling behind the bar is the best I've ever had.

Smashing boozer.. Bar staff quickly become friends, warm fire in the winter, lovely garden in the summer.. Recomend Tuesday evenings; WILD.. Karaoke on a Friday is a small, but friendly night.. Good beer, good cheer, what more could you want.. Thank you...

This used to be a gem of a traditional pub with rustic charm and ancient stonewalls. Now it's just unpleasant, as tacky inside as the outside rendering. I can never understand why people buy a beautiful building like that and spend thousands turning it into a knock off new build.
