About This Pub
You know, when you step into Harbour Lights Inn, it's like being wrapped in a big, welcoming hug – this place has been around since 1834 and still holds that timeless appeal with its cosy nooks and stunning views over the Tyne. I have to say, the food really steals the show; it's all about those hearty, homemade dishes with massive portions that could easily satisfy even the hungriest among us, and the menu's got a great variety from breakfast through to Sunday roasts. The staff are an absolute delight, always friendly and quick to sort out any special requests, like handling allergies with care or letting you in just after breakfast hours. It's dog-friendly too, which is brilliant if you're out for a stroll, and the atmosphere just buzzes with good vibes, especially when the sun's out. That said, those generous portions might be a bit much if you're after something lighter, and it can get quite lively during busy spells, so I'd recommend booking a table to skip any queues. All in all, it's a top spot for a proper pub experience – you'll leave with a smile, even if you're rolling out the door!

Fabulous food, really tasty, excellent service, impressive menu choice, cosy atmosphere, parking outside, highly recommended!
From the moment I walked in I was made to feel welcome, the young girl acknowledged my egg allergy straight away and answered any questions I had, the chef came out to speak to me about the burger buns and told me he would give me the gluten free cibatta bread for my burger and showed me the ingredients. The cheese burger was absolutley lovely and so were the Cajun chips and fresh salad. My friend had a beef roast dinner and said it was delicious. The staff were so friendly and the chef asked if my meal was nice when I left. Really appreciate taking my allergy seriously,I will be back! Thankyou again!
Amazing food. Huge portions. I had the sirloin steak. It came with Diane sauce, mushrooms, tomato, chips, salad and black pudding. It was perfectly cooked and really tasty. My husband had the parmo… he was heartbroken when it deafeated him and he couldn’t finish it.
Special mention to the best chips ever!

I have visited the harbour twice, both for a full English. The atmosphere is lovely and the service is attentive and friendly. The value for money with portions and an included coffee (filtered) is welcome. I attended at 11:01, breakfasts finished at 11:00 and they accommodated me which is unusual these days. The first time I had a breakfast there it was faultless, and I expect is the norm, however as I attended a little late on this occasion one of the sausages was inedible, it had been stood for a while and was an over cooked. hard, crusty sausage the rest was lovely. Beans separate (which is important to my missus) and better on a full English imo.
Amazing food, huge portions and all homemade food. Proper pub grub! Staff very friendly and accommodating.
Lovely views of the Tyne and when the sun shines the area looks beautiful.
Dog friendly too which is a bonus especially for the pub being so close to the beach
