About This Pub
Ah, FireRock Brewing Co, what a lovely little spot it is in Sutton-in-Ashfield! From the reviews, it's clear folks are raving about the place – the beer selection is top drawer, with a fantastic array of craft brews and IPAs that keep you coming back for more. I love how the staff go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome, and the atmosphere is just so inviting, with plenty of seating and quirky areas like that pirate room that add a fun twist. Prices are fair too, so you can relax and enjoy without worrying about the tab. On the other hand, it's a shame about the limited hours; only open four days a week with some inconsistent timings, which means you might have to plan ahead rather than dropping in on a whim. And honestly, it could be a bit confusing from the outside – one person mentioned not being sure if it was even open, so that might put a damper on things if you're not familiar with the area. Overall, though, it's got that warm, community feel that's perfect for a relaxed evening, and I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're in the mood for quality pints and good company.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The beer selection is absolutely fantastic, with a cracking range of craft brews and IPAs that really hit the spot.
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
It's got a cozy, warm atmosphere with loads of seating options and even fun spots like the pirate-themed room for a bit of character.
-
Prices are spot on – nothing too steep, so you can enjoy a few pints without breaking the bank.
-
It sounds like a lively spot on Friday or Saturday evenings, perfect for a good catch-up with mates.
Cons
-
The opening hours are a bit limited, only operating four days a week with varying times, which might make it tricky to pop in spontaneously.
-
From what I've heard, it can be hard to tell if the place is open just by looking from the outside, so you might end up wandering past without realising.
-
There's not much info on food options, so if you're after a proper meal with your drinks, you might need to head elsewhere.

Great place, I can only imagine how vibrant this can be on Friday or Saturday evening. Great service. Loads of sitting spaces. Fantastic beer. Door friendly 🤩. Acceptable prices. Will be coming back for sure.
Cracking craft beer bar with a great section of beer… I’d be here are the time if I lived closer!
Fantastic little brewery. They offer an excellent selection of craft beers and IPAs. Staff are really friendly, cozy warm atmosphere. Couldn’t recommend them enough. The only good pub in Sutton.
Amazing micro brewery
Honestly wasn't sure if it was open from the outside - went there early afternoon on Sunday, opened the door and it was full of people having a great time
Many beers on offer - tap & cask as well as cans in the fridge.
Sat in a cozy corner and chilled with a beer
Would've loved to stay longer, but will certainly be back if we're in the area
We stopped by for a quick celebratory drink after a nearby run event and loved the atmosphere and drink selection. Staff were friendly and helpful and we loved sitting in the pirate/rum room we'll definitely stop by again when back over this way
