About This Pub

Ah, Finkin's, with its Brass and Bloom Lounge, is one of those places in Grantham that really draws you in with its promise of fresh, locally-sourced grub and a welcoming atmosphere – it's like popping round to a mate's for a proper Sunday roast or a cheeky breakfast. From what I've gathered, the food shines through in the positives, with people loving the hearty mains, tasty desserts, and even the afternoon teas that come with beautiful presentations and generous helpings, all at prices that won't break the bank. The staff get a big thumbs up too for being helpful and creating that homely feel, and it's brilliant for dog owners who want to include their pets in the fun. But, let's be honest, it's not all perfect – there are tales of food not quite living up to expectations lately, like undercooked bits or gravy that's more like dishwater, which is a shame when you've built up an appetite. Plus, with just the one toilet and some grumbles about cleanliness, it might not handle a bustling crowd as well as it could. Still, with a solid overall rating, I'd say it's worth giving it a go if you're in the area, just keep an eye out for those niggles and maybe check the menu first to see if it suits your fancy.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is generally spot on, with brilliant breakfasts and Sunday roasts that folks can't stop raving about – proper hearty and tasty.
  • Staff are always friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
  • Great value for money, especially with generous portions and a wide selection of teas, coffees, cakes, and drinks that cater to all tastes.
  • The atmosphere in the Brass and Bloom Lounge is lovely, with a sophisticated vibe and eye-catching decor that's perfect for unwinding.
  • It's dog-friendly, which is a real bonus if you're out with your furry friend and fancy a bite without any fuss.
Cons
  • Some people have noticed the food quality dipping lately, with complaints about undercooked dishes and bland flavours that don't quite hit the mark.
  • Only one toilet on offer, which can be a right nuisance when the place gets busy and things start to feel a bit cramped.
  • It's not always as clean as you'd hope, with a few mentions of the venue needing a bit more attention to keep everything tidy.
  • A couple of reviews suggest the menu hasn't changed much, but the overall experience has slipped, making it feel a tad disappointing at times.

Breakfast is spot on i have to give credit to this as have had breakfast in every place in town i have 2 favourite places here is 1 of them. Sunday lunch - was lovely great yorkie pud nice and light needed to be for the size. but the gravy was a let down and why lack of flavour and it was like water this is my pet hate with gravy and another place in town is like this but they are a chain and just ruins it but on other hand will still have breakfast here.

We use to come here regularly but unfortunately the food as gone down hill in a big way .undercooked food on how last visit.the menu is the same items but the food as changed its not very nice .Having one toilet is not enough for the size of this place it’s never very clean . Waiting staff are lovely bar staff are lovely always welcoming . EDIT) after responds from owes I guess . We was not asked how we would like the burgers cooked and we have never been asked this before . When we brought a issue to the staff on it was taken back to the kitchen where the chef said it’s how you cook your burgers not that you can choose how you’d like it cooked . the other burger ordered one was fine no pink . As for the price that was for everyone who was there not for the price of one meal that is my mistake I though it was for everyone’s food . we paid around £40 for food and extra on drinks . I hope that clears that part up .

We were a party of 7 who booked afternoon tea. The table was beautifully decorated and the china cups and plates were a lovely touch. The cake and sandwich selection was fantastic. Everything was really tasty and there was loads of choice and really generous portions. Also, great value for money. I would highly recommend

Breakfast cost £9.95 with £1.50 extra for black pudding, this includes tea or coffee. So considering the price point an excellent breakfast and would have no hesitation in visiting again. The sausage seemed to be a standard catering type sausage, so quite bland, but considering the price not a surprise. Breakfast wrap a good size and plenty for mother in law and a really nice scone according to my wife. All in all a lovely experience.

Lovely dog friendly cafe with nice coffee, nice cakes and tasty food. I had the pulled pork and cheese baguette, which was splendid! Good value too… coffee, cake, baguette and fries, eating in, for a little over £15. There was more than one happy customer too! 🙂👍😂
