About This Pub
Ah, Escabeche – it's one of those places that really warms the cockles, you know? From what I've gathered chatting about it, the food is just spot on; they've got this brilliant way of blending fresh local ingredients with bold international flavours, making every bite feel like a mini adventure without straying too far from the tapas roots. The service stands out too – stories of staff bending over backwards for birthdays or dietary needs really make it feel personal and caring. And for a spot of lunch or dinner with mates, the value's spot on, especially with their daily menus that won't leave you out of pocket. On the flip side, it can turn into a right racket when it's packed, particularly if there's a big event on, so if you're after a quiet catch-up, you might want to pick your time wisely. Plus, if fried foods aren't your thing, some options might feel a tad heavy, but hey, that's easy enough to work around by choosing something different. All in all, it's a gem for anyone wanting a taste of something special in Nottingham, with that family-run charm that keeps you coming back for more.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely brilliant – fresh, full of flavour, and inspired by international twists on classic tapas, making every meal a real treat.
-
Service is top-notch; the staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome, whether it's accommodating allergies or sorting out special occasions.
-
It's great value for money, especially with options like the menu del dia, which offers a fantastic lunch without breaking the bank.
-
The atmosphere is lovely, with a touch of Barcelona brought right to West Bridgford – think cosy seating, good music, and a welcoming vibe for groups or family dinners.
Cons
-
It can get quite noisy at times, especially during events like cricket matches when things are buzzing and folks have had a few drinks.
-
Some of the dishes lean towards being fried, which might not appeal to everyone if you're after lighter options – it's all down to personal taste, mind you.

Amazing food, lovely table just very loud in there when we came in on the 22nd May (to be fair there was Cricket on and so maybe it was busy with cricket goers who'd already had a few beers).
We'll definitely go back again
We've never had a disappointing meal here—the quality of both the food and service is always exceptional. Our most recent visit was to surprise my mum for her birthday, and it couldn't have gone better. Despite it being a busy time, Lucy (I believe that was her name) went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly and that we were well looked after. It made the celebration feel really special, and we’re so grateful for the extra effort. Highly recommend!
Best tapas I’ve had! Loads of options and so accommodating for a cows milk allergy!!
Lovely place!! The food was delicious, I especially liked the patatas bravas and the crema catalana. My mum didn’t really like that a lot of the food she got was fried, but I guess that’s up to personal preference. She said if she came again she would get something different.
Our waitress was really friendly and helpful. I asked her if the sticky toffee pudding had dates in and she asked the chefs since she didn’t know herself (for my fellow autistic people, yes it does). The service was also super fast. I went to the bathroom shortly after ordering and my mum’s halloumi fritters had already been served when I came back. We came in at 4, so it was quite empty at first, but the service stayed fast even when it was busier and we ordered desserts.
The restaurant is decorated really nicely, I loved the grey plates and the cup my latte came in. My latte also had a heart on it which I thought was so cute.
This might be something only I would write in a review as a graphic design student, but I thought the menus were really nicely designed. I especially liked the typography on the paper that came on the plates. I will definitely be taking inspiration for any similar projects I have.
Have just had a fantastic lunch here at escabeche with friends. We all ordered the menu del dia which is an absolute bargain - the food and service were both brilliant.
Music was good, made for a nice atmosphere, clean and well laid out.
