About This Pub

Ah, you know, if you're in Birmingham and in the mood for some Indian grilled grub, Copper Fox Grill in Harborne is one of those places that often hits the mark. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the food's a real highlight – think generous portions of delicious dishes that have folks raving, especially when paired with a pint of beer. It's got that friendly, down-to-earth staff who go the extra mile to make your visit enjoyable, and it's perfect for catching a footy game with mates. With an overall rating of 4.3, it's clear most people walk away chuffed. But, let's be straight, it's not all smooth sailing; some have mentioned dishes being way too spicy or lacking in flavour depth, and there are tales of long waits for delivery with food turning up cold. Plus, it can feel a bit pricey compared to the usual haunts. Still, for a balanced night out, it's worth giving it a go – just keep those insights in mind for a better experience.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely delicious with generous portions that leave you feeling satisfied.
  • Friendly and attentive staff who make you feel right at home, with some standout service from folks like Anne Marie.
  • It's a brilliant spot for watching football matches while enjoying a meal, adding to the lively atmosphere.
  • Open seven days a week with moderate prices, making it a reliable choice for a casual get-together.
Cons
  • Some dishes can be overly spicy or not cooked just right, like those tandoori wings that were too hot to handle.
  • Wait times for orders can drag on, and food might arrive cold, which puts a damper on the experience.
  • The flavours in the curries sometimes lack that real depth, leaving you wanting a bit more punch.
  • It's a touch more expensive than other spots, which might make you think twice before heading back.

Friday 28 March 2025, Ordered tandoori wings. They were so hot that we could not eat them. We’ve had them dozens of times before but these were not cooked well and smothered in pepper. Waited way over an hour for delivery. Rice cold, bread cold, chicken wings like warm. Had to reheat everything! Never ever again!!!

I visited this place today with my family(4 of us), and I have to say the food was absolutely delicious and the portion sizes were generous. We were really impressed by the the food, and it’s honestly some of the best we’ve had in a long time! Most of the staff were also fantastic—friendly, polite, and welcoming. However, there was one exception: Sue. We arrived at 1:20 PM when the restaurant wasn’t busy. Sue gave us a table for four with chairs, but my daughter kindly asked if we could sit at a sofa table instead since it was free and there were plenty of empty tables around. Her response was unnecessarily rude—she said the table was for six people, even though it was actually for four. She didn’t even let us to explain anything she just rushed away. To make things even more frustrating, the exact same type of table next to it only had three people sitting at the table. We thought maybe she had misunderstood our request, so my mom asked again, as she is suffering from back pain and would be more comfortable at the sofa table. Despite there being multiple empty sofa tables, Sue refused again, clearly irritated that we had asked a second time. What made the whole situation even worse was that those sofa tables stayed completely empty the entire time we were there. Even as we finished our meal and left, they were still unoccupied. It was really disappointing because we had such a great experience with the food and the rest of the staff, but this left a bad impression. If not for Sue’s attitude, this place would have been perfect! The food was absolutely amazing, and the other staff were wonderful. It’s a shame that such a small issue had to leave a negative mark on an otherwise fantastic restaurant.

As a big lover of Indian food, we were recommended to try this place. The service was great and staff were polite and welcoming. We did find it a little more expensive than usual places we go to. The beer was a lovely pint and enjoyed it, sadly the Curry's seemed to lack a depth in flavour. I would recommend booking for sure as it is a busy place.
