About This Pub
Ah, Cheshire Oaks – it's one of those reliable spots in Ellesmere Port that you can pop into for a bite and a bevvy without breaking the bank. From what I've gathered, the food's a real highlight; think hearty pub classics like burgers and sharers that hit the spot every time, and it's all served up quickly so you don't spend half the evening waiting. The deals are brilliant too – like their weekday offers that let you feast for just £10 – making it an easy choice for a casual get-together with mates or family. The atmosphere is spot on for families, with plenty of space and a laid-back feel, plus handy facilities like WiFi and parking. On the flip side, it's not all smooth sailing; some folks have mentioned that while a few staff members are absolute stars, others don't seem as invested, which can make the experience feel a bit uneven. And there've been a couple of grumbles about things like deals not being applied properly, which is a shame when you're counting on that value. All in all, it's a solid choice if you're after good food and a welcoming vibe, but it might pay to keep expectations realistic for the service side of things – still, I'd recommend giving it a try if you're nearby.

Food was really lovely and came out quickly. 5 star service from the female member of staff that welcomed us in and took orders, younger male colleagues didn't seem to be as interested in their job.. the woman seemed to be doing the job for all of them, but a great job she was doing. We would visit again as food good and very affordable , good place to take children with wide range of things available on menu, also plenty of free parking right outside.
We booked for breakfast, with the Easter Bunny. Honestly, it was incredible value for money. At Just 8.99. All the staff were so attentive. The Easter Bunny was very generous with his time and surprises. The little one had the best morning with him. And doing the activities.
The table was all set up. With activities and crafts. There was a gorgeous little area for
Pictures. I would definitely recommend this to anyone with little ones.
It really has been a lovely time 🐰
Extra shout out to our waitress, Cristina, she’s been spot on with her hosting. Absolutely lovely lady!
Yesterday 5th pf February we visit Hungry Horse for my daughter birthday. We ordered 3 meals from the Wednesday deal, which is supposed to be 8£ and a free drink, and I was charged 8.99 with no drinks. After I spoke with the manager about she said she said she can't gave as drinks because we didn't mention at first. The Wednesday deal includes wine as well, but be careful at the brand. They are 3 types on the picture, but only one is 7.99.I was charged 17.99We didn't feel OK after that and we have puddings next door.Never happens before to a restaurant not to get was was in the offer because I didn't ask from the beginning
Visit here regularly for a breakfast before work. Customer service is superb. Food is excellent. Sue is a credit to your establishment. Always welcomes me with a smile and goes that extra mile.
We visited at 5pm on a Thursday evening and there were plenty of tables to choose from. The atmosphere was pleasant with quiet music in the background so you can easily have a conversation without shouting. We ordered food via the app which was easy to navigate and it automatically applied an offer discount. We ordered the vegan mushroom and ale pie. Drinks arrived within 5 minutes and food around five minutes later. The food was as described on the menu, nicely presented and hot. We followed this with a delicious vegan chocolate torte which was a soft mouse (around the size of a Mr Kipling cake slice) with fresh strawberries. The staff were attentive and polite. I haven't really any big negatives with this pub other than the female toilets would appreciate a bit of general maintenance. Two (out of 4) of the cubicles had doors which didn't close properly so couldn't be locked and one had no toilet paper.
