About This Pub

Ah, Carriers Arms – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem in Morley, Leeds, where you can kick back and enjoy the simple pleasures without any fuss. From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, the staff are an absolute delight; they're friendly, attentive, and always ready to sort out things like gluten-free options or making sure everyone's comfortable, which really makes you feel valued. The beers are spot on too, with a solid range that's easy on the wallet, and the food? Well, the Sunday roasts and pies get rave reviews – think tasty, homemade grub that's perfect for a family gathering or a lazy afternoon. Plus, with outdoor seating, a play area for the kids, and events like open mic nights, it's got that community spirit that draws you in. On the flip side, though, it's a bit of a shame that food isn't on offer all day, so you'll need to check the times if you're planning a meal. And that small parking fee? It adds up if you're a regular, and the hours can be confusing at times, making it less ideal for impromptu visits. Overall, it's a solid choice for a pint and a chat, with more highs than lows, and I'd say it's worth a try if you're in the area – just go in with realistic expectations for a good, honest pub experience.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely lovely and go out of their way to make everyone feel right at home, always accommodating special requests like dietary needs.
  • They've got a cracking selection of beers at prices that won't break the bank, making it a top spot for a casual pint.
  • The food is spot on, especially the Sunday roasts and homemade pies – proper hearty meals that leave you satisfied.
  • It's family-friendly with an outdoor area, a play space for the little ones, and even a bouncy castle, perfect for a relaxed day out.
  • Fun extras like open mic nights, bar games, and even plane spotting from the outdoor bar add a bit of excitement to the mix.
Cons
  • Food is only available at certain times, so you might have to time your visit just right if you're after a bite.
  • There's a small fee for parking, which can feel a tad annoying when you're just popping in for a quick drink.
  • The opening hours seem a bit patchy and not always straightforward, which might put a damper on spontaneous plans.

We held my mums wake here. Great Landlord and Landady . Opened early for us. Great food abd drink. Nice outdoor area for the young ones. Good pool table and tap room. Second room like a function room with old historical pictures on the wall and a very authenticpub feel. Great access for the older members of my family having a ramp for wheelchairs. Exactly what we needed. Thank you.

Great experience. Diane served us and very accommodative to dietary requirements as we needed a gluten free option. We also needed the venue to be latex free and they obliged and made us feel comfortable. Food was delicious we had Sunday lunch /roast dinner and they did a lovely kids menu for our 3 year old. The Lamb was unbelievable and overall we found the venue homely, friendly and would definitely go again. Thank you for a lovely meal.
