About This Pub
Ah, the Bull Inn – it's one of those pubs that just warms your heart the moment you walk in, with its rich history dating back to 1901 and all those original touches like the stained glass and snug booths that make it feel so inviting. I love how it's become a go-to for anyone keen on sports; whether it's cheering on the footy or rugby, the screens are everywhere, and the buzz during big games is just electric. The staff really add to the charm, being so attentive and making you feel right at home, which is why so many folks rave about it in their reviews. On the flip side, though, I've got to be straight with you – the drinks can hit the wallet a bit harder than you'd expect for a local boozer, like that wine price that's a tad eye-watering. And since it's adults-only, it's not ideal if you're out with the little ones. All in all, if you're after a proper, relaxed pub experience in Paisley, it's worth a visit, but maybe keep an eye on your tab to keep things balanced.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The Bull Inn has this wonderful historical charm, being the oldest pub in Paisley since 1901, with original features like stained glass windows and cosy snugs that make you feel like you've stepped back in time.
-
It's a brilliant spot for sports fans, with loads of HD screens showing everything from Premier League footy to rugby and Formula 1, plus a lively atmosphere when the games are on.
-
The staff are spot on – friendly and welcoming, as mentioned in a few reviews, making it easy to settle in and even chat with the locals.
-
They've got a great selection of real ales and drinks, and it's dog-friendly too, so you can pop in with your furry mate for a pint.
-
Overall, it's affordably priced for a traditional pub, and the high rating of 4.6 shows it's a solid choice for a relaxed evening out.
Cons
-
Drink prices can be a bit steep in places, like a medium wine coming in at around £7.39, which some might find pricey for a local spot in Paisley.
-
It's strictly over 18s only, so if you're after a family-friendly venue, this isn't the one – it's more geared towards adults looking for a quiet drink or to watch the match.
-
From what I've seen in the reviews, there might be the odd off day, with one person mentioning it didn't quite live up to expectations on their visit.

Recent Reviews
This is a nice pub with character which I've frequented over a long number of years. On our recent visit, we bought one pint of lager and on medium sized Sauvignon Blanc - it cost £13.04 ( the medium wine was £7.39 or thereabouts, that's about £32 a bottle!!!! In a Paisley pub. We drink in Glasgow city centre and in fancy bits of Edinburgh, and I can't recall paying that for a medium white wine. If it was a large, I get it, but a medium, the Bull is taking the pish. If you drink wine, don't drink it here, be warned. Other than that, a perfectly pleasant, quirky pub. If you drink only beer, then you won't notice. But they're having a laugh over their wine prices! Won't be back.
The Bull Inn transports you back in time, the Bar and dark timber surround is all original, and complements many local ales that are offered.
There are private booths, complete with TVs where you can watch sports with friends, or anyone really.
The pub supports the local football team ST Mirren, with fans populating the bar before and after the match, more so when they play at home.
The staff and regulars are always very welcoming.
First time in here in a very very long time and it did not disappoint. A quietly chilled friendly atmosphere with booths perfect for escaping the chaos.
Really appreciated the historical features of the pub. It was quirky and nostalgic.
Will def be back!
If you like classic old heritage bars and first class cask ale then this place is a must visit. A superb pint of IPA poured by a great barman. Sky Sports News is on - picture only - all the monitors around the bar including a 📺 in each of the 3 snugs at the back. Well worth seeking out and 11:00 openings as well 👌🏼
I had a great time at Bull Inn. Zoe and Paulina took great care of me. They were attentive, friendly and made me feel very welcome. I went in for one beer and ended up meeting a couple of locals and we closed the place down. The atmosphere is great. I learned that they are the oldest bar in Paisley, and the last bar to allow women in. Glad they have women running the place now!
