Bondies Bar in Ellesmere Port

So, I have to say, Bondies Bar really hit the spot when I popped in the other day – it's one of those hidden gems that makes you glad you ventured out. The beers are absolutely spot on, with a cracking range of craft options and ales that keep things fresh and exciting, and at reasonable prices too, so you can try a few without worrying about the tab. The staff are just lovely, always up for a chat and making everyone feel at ease, which adds to that cosy, grown-up atmosphere that's neither too rowdy nor too quiet. It's in a great spot near Whitby park, so on a sunny afternoon, it's ideal for combining a walk with a well-deserved drink. Plus, being family-friendly until 7pm is a nice touch if you're out with the kids. On the flip side, it doesn't open until the afternoon and closes fairly early, which might not work for early risers or those after a proper night out. And without a website, it's a bit of a faff to get the lowdown beforehand. All in all, though, it's a solid choice for beer enthusiasts looking for a friendly, independent local haunt – I'd definitely recommend giving it a go if you're in the area.
