About This Pub
Ah, the Block & Gasket – it's one of those pubs that really pulls you in with its warm vibe and all the extras on offer, like watching the footie or diving into a bottomless brunch with mates. From what I've gathered from the buzz around, the staff are absolute gems; they're quick to help out, whether it's sorting dietary preferences or just making sure you're settled in. The drinks menu is a highlight too, packed with craft beers and cocktails that pack a punch, and it's brilliant for special occasions or a casual catch-up. On the flip side, though, it's not all smooth sailing – some have had a rough time with the food, like waits that drag on or meals that turn up cold, which is a shame when you're hoping for that hearty pub grub. Overall, it's a solid choice if you're after good value and a friendly atmosphere, but I'd say keep expectations in check for the eats and maybe pop in when it's not too hectic to get the best experience. It's got that community feel that makes it worth a visit, warts and all.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, always going above and beyond to make sure you're looked after – like when they assist with dietary needs or ensure everyone's having a good time.
-
They've got a fantastic selection of drinks, including craft beers and proper cocktails with a decent kick, plus loads of options for events like bottomless brunch that are spot on for a fun day out.
-
The food can be brilliant when it's on form, offering tasty, hot meals at a great price, especially for meat-eaters and vegetarians alike.
-
It's a welcoming spot for watching live sport or gathering for occasions, with a lively atmosphere that makes it feel like a proper community hub.
Cons
-
Food service can be hit or miss, with some reports of long waits even when it's quiet, and dishes arriving cold or not up to scratch.
-
The quality of the grub isn't always reliable – a few folks have mentioned it feeling like standard pub fare that's underwhelming at times.
-
Little niggles like a strange smell on a pint glass can put a dampener on things, showing that attention to detail isn't perfect every visit.

Awful food.
Took about an hour to arrive, and it was still cold? Make it make sense!
We were the only people in there eating so not sure what took so long
Food was of low quality and generally just bad pub food. Wouldn't reccomend to anyone
Also my pint glass had a strange smell
Really enjoyed the bottomless brunch. The barman who served us was very good and its a nice bar
Beat service I've received in a long long time! Yes it was a Wednesday afternoon so not overly busy, but the 2 staff that were working were outstanding!
The went above and beyond to ensure everyone everyone was having a good time.
The food was also absolutely brilliant for the price.
Keep it up guys and do not change the way you treat your customers!!
I have lactose intolerance and the staff were very helpful in looking everything up for me. The food was very good, tasty and hot. So I would recommend to all. Great place, service and staff.
Thank you.
Bar staff friendly. Bottomless brunch has options for meat eater and for vegetarian. Extensive drinks options definitely worth it as it gives great cocktails( that actually have alcohol in them).
