We have been regulars here as a family for over a year. The standards of service, food quality, and value for money are second to none. Well done to the chefs, the floor staff, and everyone involved in running this business.

15 of us went today for Sunday lunch, pre booked rather than a drop in. Staff were great, they managed to be patient, efficient, attentive, professional, friendly and very hardworking. Whenever I visit, whichever staff are present all seem happy in their work and a good team. Our food came in a reasonable amount of time for 15 covers on a Sunday lunch time, all courses were delicious and there were clean plates all round. The southern fried chicken burgers were absolutely enormous, definitely good for those who like a challenge! We were having a family celebration and did not feel rushed at all, staff checked on us regularly and kept us topped up with drinks. The manager took photos for us and a staff member even changed my mum's glass without question, not knowing it was because her arthritis made it difficult to grip the j20 glass. Very kind people. The kitchen staff were also visibly working away really hard and doing a great job. All our visiting family thoroughly enjoyed their visit too. I can't wait to come back

After previously having a great meal for my Husbands birthday we thought we would go again! We called prior to see if they had availability and let us book a table, when we arrived they didn’t have our booking - however the lady found a table and had us seated within minutes. We both opted the for Beef Sunday Dinner (which I had tried before), as soon as the plates were placed on the table you could simply see the Beef on top with more fat than meat. We tried to salvage as much as possible but the parts editable was extremely chewy, to which we simply left the meat and ate the rest of the meal. At not one point during the meal did any member of staff come to check on us, a young waitress simply approached the table and said are you finished and took our plates. We were not asked if the meal was ok or offered a desert menu. A while later the manager approached and asked if we wanted a desert menu, to which we said yes, it was brought to our table and left which no mention of the cheesecake of the day. We eventually got the attention of the same young waitress to ask the cheesecake and simply advised ‘mini eggs’ and left - we had been sat already at least 10 minutes with the menus. By the time the waiter came and asked if we wanted desserts, to much time had passed and we’d had enough. We asked for the bill which was brought to our table, when the waiter placed the bill down he simply said ‘do you want the card machine’ , he came back to process the payment - with no conversation and again no questions if everything was ok. On leaving we asked for the managers email or the process to complain and were advised to just leave reviews! Unfortunately it was a bad experience from start to finish, big let down from the staff.

Just had our first meal here and it was lovely. Delicious food - fish and chips was cooked beautifully, and so were the chicken goujons. The whole place is nicely decorated - super tunes playing too! Will definitely be back

A nice pub/ restaurant in Bishop Auckland. The staff were excellent and on the whole the food was good. There were slight issues with each course. Soup a tad more seasoning, the main just okay. The rhubarb just too tart, a smidge more sugar. That's it.
