About This Pub

You know, when I think about the Alhambra Bar, it just brings a smile to my face – it's one of those proper Edinburgh pubs that feels like a hidden gem on Leith Walk. The staff are absolute stars; they're so chatty and make everyone feel welcome, whether you're a regular or just passing through, which really adds to that community spirit. The drinks are spot on too, with a solid range of beers and spirits at prices that won't break the bank, and folks rave about the Guinness being top-notch. It's brilliant for sports lovers, with good screens for the footie and that lively buzz that gets you chatting with the locals. On the downside, though, it does wrap up early at 11 PM, so if you're in the mood for a long night, you might find yourself moving on sooner than you'd like. Plus, it's got that traditional feel, which is charming but might not tickle your fancy if you're after something more modern or crafty. And while it's great for drinks, there doesn't seem to be much in the way of food, so you'd best plan ahead if you're peckish. All in all, it's a solid choice for a laid-back evening – honest, unpretentious, and just what you need after a day exploring the city.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
  • They've got a cracking selection of beers, wines, and spirits, with standout mentions for the Guinness – apparently the best on Leith Walk!
  • It's got that lively, vibrant atmosphere that's perfect for sports fans, with decent screens for watching footie and a real community vibe.
  • Prices are spot on for a casual night out – inexpensive and reasonable, so you won't feel like you're splashing out too much.
  • Outdoor seating adds a nice touch for when the weather's playing ball, letting you soak up the East End of Edinburgh.
Cons
  • It closes at 11 PM every night, which might put a dampener on things if you're hoping for a proper late-night session.
  • The drinks selection sticks to traditional options, so if you're after fancy craft beers or the latest trends, it might feel a bit lacking.
  • There's no mention of food on offer, so you'd probably need to head elsewhere if you're looking for a proper meal with your pint.
