About This Pub
You know, when I think about Vikings Landing in Liverpool, it just feels like that reliable local spot you'd pop into for a proper meal without any fuss. The food's a real highlight – imagine tucking into a juicy carvery or a fresh steak salad, all served up quickly and tasting spot on, especially with those family-friendly touches like a kids' menu and gluten-free options. The staff are an absolute gem, always polite and ready to help, whether it's sorting out a special request or making sure everyone's allergies are covered. It's got that warm, homely atmosphere with a roaring fire and a garden for sunnier days, making it perfect for catching up with mates or treating the little ones. But, let's be honest, it's not flawless – I've heard of the occasional mix-up with dishes, like expecting cod and getting haddock instead, which can be a bit frustrating. And while the outdoor seating's nice, it might not be everyone's cup of tea if there are smokers about. Overall, though, it's a solid choice for a relaxed night out, especially if you're after good value and a bit of that traditional pub charm – I'd say give it a go if you're in the area, but keep an eye out for those deals to make it even better.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely spot on – from the hearty carvery to fresh salads and tasty pies, it's all made with care and comes out piping hot.
-
Customer service is top-notch; the staff are friendly, attentive, and go the extra mile, like checking for allergies and sorting out any mix-ups quickly.
-
It's a brilliant spot for families, with a dedicated children's menu, plenty of options for all ages, and even a pub garden for enjoying the outdoors when the weather's nice.
-
Great value for money, especially with offers like 30% off mains, and it's kept clean and welcoming throughout.
-
They've got a lovely range of drinks, from well-kept ales and ciders to soft options, and the atmosphere is relaxed and homely.
Cons
-
There can be the odd slip-up with orders, like getting the wrong type of fish, which might leave you a bit disappointed if you're particular about that.
-
The outdoor area might not be ideal for everyone, as it's sometimes affected by smokers or vapers, which could put a damper on alfresco dining.
-
It seems like they rely on promotions to draw folks in, so if you're not catching one of those deals, it might feel a tad ordinary compared to other spots.

Great food, superb customer service. Staff asked about allergies which my wife has and the gluten free menu was pointed out to her and she was pleasantly surprised at the excellent range of options.
We visit here regularly. I ordered fish and chips, after being told that it was cod, but when the meal came it wasn't cod, so i just ate the batter. I queried it when the server came to take the plates. She double checked and it was haddock. I explained what I was told and she consulted the manager. My meal was refunded due to the error. Good service as always here, staff are really nice. This won't put me off visiting.
All meals ordered for our party of 10 were hot, tasty and quick to be brought out. One child order was slightly wrong, but this was rectified straight away. The serving staff were lovely & no request was too much trouble for them. Very enjoyable family meal.
I visited for lunch with a friend and was really happy with the food freshness, staff politeness and cleanliness of the pub. The steak salad was so nice. I will definitely be back.
The toilets were clean and smelt hygienic.
Well done to the management and staff.
What a great find 👏 the place was spotless the food excellent at good prices. We had a stake and ale pie with chips and peas it was really tasty. We sat inside but you can sit out if you want but the time we went there was a lot of smokers/vape so not recommended if eating.
There are some pictures of menus and prices that might help if you need to price first.
The toilets are easy access able if disabled and there is disabled parking outside.
