About This Pub
You know, I popped into The Willow the other week and it really hit the spot for a proper pub experience. The food's a highlight – think hearty Sunday carvery with plenty of veg and meats to choose from, all at prices that won't leave you skint. They've got options for everyone, whether you're gluten-free or just fancy a veggie dish, and it's all served up with a smile from the friendly team who make you feel right at home. The atmosphere is just lovely, with live bands and sports on the screens, plus it's great for families with that play area out back. It's a solid spot for unwinding with mates over a pint or a glass of wine, but do keep in mind it can get a bit lively on busy evenings, so booking's a good idea. On the downside, if you're hoping for a night that stretches into the wee hours, the closing times might cut things short, and the menu's more about classic pub grub than anything fancy. All in all, it's a welcoming place that does the basics brilliantly and leaves you wanting to come back for more.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The food is absolutely spot on, with a cracking Sunday carvery and options for gluten-free and vegetarian folks, making it a great choice for all tastes.
-
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, ideal for families, friends, or even popping in for a quiet pint, with live music and sports on the telly adding to the buzz.
-
Staff are friendly and go the extra mile, creating that homely feel where everyone feels looked after.
-
Prices are fair and wallet-friendly, especially for weekday lunches starting from just £5.50, giving brilliant value without breaking the bank.
-
It's dog-friendly in the bar and has family-friendly features like a play area, making it versatile for different groups.
Cons
-
It can get a bit busy during peak times, so you might need to book ahead to avoid waiting around.
-
The hours wrap up relatively early most days, around 11pm, which might not suit those after a late-night session.
-
While the menu covers a lot, it sticks to traditional pub fayre, so if you're after something more adventurous, it might feel a tad limited.
