About This Pub
So, I've been having a think about The White Hart in Little Waltham, and it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem. The food's mostly brilliant – think seasonal specials made with fresh ingredients, and standout choices like the steak or sea bass that folks rave about. Pair that with a great selection of drinks, from thirst-quenching ales to cocktails, and you've got a winning formula for a relaxed meal or night out. The service is another highlight; it's warm and efficient, with staff who make you feel looked after without being over the top. Plus, the outdoor areas are lovely for soaking up the village atmosphere, especially with events like live music or their famous Sunday roasts. On the downside, it can get a bit hectic when it's busy, leading to waits that might put a dampener on things, and not every dish is perfect – I've heard a few mentions of the roast being dry or the hummus not quite living up to expectations. Still, with such a strong overall rating, it's well worth popping in for a pint and a bite; just keep an eye on the busier times for the best experience.

Cons
-
Some dishes can be a bit inconsistent, like the Monday roast that one person found too dry.

It gets quite busy at times, which might mean a wait for your food or a table, even on weekdays.
-
Not every item is a winner – for instance, the hummus was described as runny and not to everyone's taste.

Monday roast is bit too dry, sea bass is good though. Service is good, it’s bit busy yesterday.
Another fabulous meal at this very popular place. Everything was lovely from the warm welcome right to the cheerful exit. Good quality, great service, reasonable prices - a winning combination. Well done everyone.
Came here for a 17th birthday, and very impressed. Pictured is the double steak burger, and the 8oz fillet steak (with mushroom sauce). Steak was absolutely wonderful, cooked medium rare to PERFECTION! Service particularly friendly, and despite warnings of slow service, the food still arrived in good time.
Would highly recommend.
Went for the choice of 4 small plates, very good except for the hummus which I found very runny & didn't enjoy the texture, but would most definitely have the prawns, the halloumi fries and very delicious chicken wings again and pick a different 4th plate. It was pretty busy for a Monday evening and nice cosy atmosphere. Will return to try their Monday discount roast. All in all, very good and also good bar staff 😁
We have been back to The White Hart quite a few times since I posted this review. We have had excellent meals every time. Todays meal 20/11/24 was truly excellent. The moules marrinaire were absolutely delicious. The skate was enormous and delicious. My wife's cod was also a really generous portion and delicious. Again the whole experience was first class.
A spur of the moment decision to try The White Hart on a wednesday lunchtime for the first time. What a lovely place to eat and relax, really friendly and welcoming staff. From the initial phone call to book to being served we were looked after by Olivia she was absolutely brilliant. Friendly, funny and really attentive. We had Skate and Cod with chips as our main courses with tempora prawns as a starter. All of the food was really nice, delicious good sized portions and piping hot. Really reasonable prices. 2 drinks 2 starters and 2 mains for £45 ! Really good value and will definitely be returning. It was a really pleasant experience and judging by how busy the place was a lot of other people thought so as well.
