About This Pub
You know, when you're out and about looking for a reliable place to grab some fish and chips, The Fish Inn really stands out as a winner in Barking. From the reviews, it's clear that the food hits the mark – the fish is fried fresh, with a lovely crispy batter that makes each bite a treat, and the chips are just the right amount of golden and tasty. I love how they focus on generous portions, so you won't be left wanting more, and it's perfect for a quick takeaway with packaging that's thoughtful and keeps things tidy. On the flip side, it's not all perfect; the fish can be a tad oily now and then, which might not suit everyone, and they do seem to sell out of extras like fried chicken quite often, so planning ahead could save a bit of disappointment. All in all, it's a solid choice for a casual get-together or a solo treat, with that high rating making it feel like a hidden gem worth sharing with your crowd.

I’d been craving fish and chips all week. Did an online search and found The Fish Inn, in Barking.
The service was excellent. I was willing to wait as the fish was being cooked. Good packaging, so the food was not all over the place when I got home. Thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Good portion size.
Really good fish and chips, freshly fried and the fish also tastes fresh. Good sausage in batter and chips. I like their chciken too, only thing I would say is to make.more of their fried chicken as they regularly run out. My go to for fish and chips now. Highly recommended!

Review: Good portion size and you can easily share a large chips as well as single portions of curry sauce and mushy peas.
The cod was a little oily but they did fry it fresh for us, the batter was light and crispy and cod just melted in the mouth. The chips where nice but I have had better but this was still a good example. The curry sauce however was very runny and salty and I have definitely had better so not in the top 10 on this. Mushy peas however was thick and tasty and fresh. I personally loved the chicken wings but I was informed by another they tasted much better from a wings connoisseur however as i say i was a fan as I loved the size and taste.

I never write any reviews on any sites unless forced to but I felt compelled in another way to write this one. This is a local fish and chip shop doing things right and I hope by leaving this review it’ll become even more popular reducing the chances of it ever leaving! The food was superb, delivered very hot by the Uber driver, they have all the options you’d expect of a chippy. Thank you very much.
I went to this place on Tuesday 5th May 2020 while fasting for the month of Ramadan. I really wanted some fish and chips to break my fast.
After looking on Google, I came across The Fish Inn. The reviews and images seemed like the kind of place I was looking for.
When arriving at the shop, the staff had just pulled down the shutter and were serving their last customer. They saw my disappointed face, told me not to worry with a smile and asked me to continue with my order.
As I ordered, without hesitation they started to batter the cod for me. I knew it may have been easier for them if I ordered some fried chicken which was on display, considering it was closing time.
They re-checked my order when passing me my bag. At this point I was pleasantly surprised to see their packaging and saw that they took pride in their presentation.
Upon breaking my fast, the food was just what I had hoped for...It was honestly the best fish and chips I’ve had in years within the M25.
This will now be my usual place for Fish & Chips.
