About This Pub
Ah, The Elbow Room – it's one of those places that just feels like a proper local haunt in Macclesfield, you know? From what I've gathered from the buzz around it, folks really love the welcoming vibe and the fantastic setup for games like pool, darts, and shuffleboard; it's brilliant for unwinding after a long week or even bringing the family along for some fun. The staff stand out as real gems, always up for a chat and quick to sort you out, whether it's nabbing a table or answering questions about hiring the space. And the drink selection? It's solid, with prices that generally feel fair, making it easy to settle in for the evening. But, let's be honest, it's not without its downsides – that £6.40 for a pint of Guinness might raise an eyebrow or two, and the operating hours can look a bit muddled, so you'd want to confirm they're open before you pop over. Overall, though, it's a solid choice if you're after a relaxed spot to enjoy the match or just have a laugh; I'd say give it a go if you're in the area, as the positives definitely outweigh the niggles.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are absolutely brilliant – always friendly and helpful, like that bartender who sorted out a pool table in a flash or the manager Seb who was spot on with advice.
-
It's a top spot for games; plenty of pool tables, darts, and shuffleboard to keep things lively and fun for all ages, even popping in with the little ones.
-
The atmosphere is just right – relaxed and welcoming, making it ideal for catching the footy, having a few beers, and enjoying a chat with mates.
-
They've got a decent selection of drinks and bar snacks, with prices that feel pretty standard for a night out in town.
Cons
-
Some drinks can be a bit pricey, like that Guinness coming in at £6.40 – ouch, it might make you think twice before ordering another round.
-
The operating hours seem a tad confusing from what I've seen, with varying times listed, so it's worth double-checking before heading out to avoid any disappointment.

Forgot bartenders name from Sunday night, but he was mint, got us a pool table sorted the second one became available! Great place for pool and beers, decent selection. 👍 cheers!
cool spot. great screens and darts boards.
but £6.40 for THIS Guinness 😬😄 come on guys!!
Our first visit to the Elbow room was fab. Lovely staff and a relaxing venue to have drink and shoot some pool. We will definitely return.
You pay for the length of time you play so how much you spend is up to you. Made a refreshing change on a Saturday afternoon.
I take my 9 year old son, and we are leaving shortly to visit the Elbow room again, it's a relaxed atmosphere, they have pool tables 5 large and one smaller one, 2 shuffle boards, dart boards, a bar with a nice selection of drinks and bar snacks, a smoking area upstairs (I don't smoke so I can't comment further) the room has TV screens at most tables so you can watch the various sports for free, I believe they do food although we haven't tried it yet, we usually stay a couple of hours, there is parking closed by some free spaces and a larger car park.
First time in the elbow room. Came to watch the footy and enquire about venue hire. The manager Seb was really nice. Answered all my questions and really informative. Price for a beer not too bad - standard for town :)
Will defo be back :)
