About This Pub
Ah, The Crown Inn – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper neighbourhood favourite, you know? From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this warm, unpretentious charm that makes you want to pop in for a pint after a long day. The staff really stand out; they're helpful and go the extra mile to keep things running smoothly, which is always a plus when you're settling in for a chat or watching the match. The beer selection is spot on, with a good range of Hydes brews that pour just right, and if you're up for some food, those pies are a winner – tasty and reasonably priced. On the flip side, it's a smaller spot, so it might not suit if you're after something more spacious, and there have been a few mentions of minor service niggles, like waits with orders, but they handle it well enough that it doesn't spoil the experience. All in all, if you're in Cheadle and fancy a laid-back evening, it's worth a visit for the friendly atmosphere and those cracking beers – I'd say it's a solid 4.3-rated spot that delivers more hits than misses.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are absolutely brilliant, always going above and beyond to sort things out and make you feel welcome – like offering complimentary desserts when something's not quite right.
-
They've got a cracking selection of beers, especially the Hydes ones, and pints like Guinness or Hopster pour nicely and hit the spot.
-
It's a cosy spot for catching the footie on the telly without it getting too rowdy, making it perfect for a relaxed pint with mates.
-
The food's a real treat; that Pieminister pie is spot on, and the prices are fair, giving you great value for a proper pub meal.
Cons
-
It's a bit on the small side, so it might feel a tad cramped if it gets busy, especially in the bar area.
-
There can be occasional slip-ups with service, like orders not coming out together, though the team seems quick to fix it.

First visit, nice pub with football on but not too rowdy. Good pint of Guinness
Nice local (small) high street pub.
Only been in on 2 quiet nights, so I'm not in a position to judge. However, the service was friendly, good choices of beer (lager) and nicely poured.
Will revist.

Went here with some friends yesterday as we knew the manager, I didn't' know what to expect ... however I have to say that it's a brilliant pub and the pieminister pie moo and blue was amazing. Great selection of beers and you can't argue with the price 👍
A bit of a Tardis pub as the narrow front opens up to an L shaped bar area to the rear. Small beer garden / smoking area. Popular bar with the locals and especially when footie on the TV's. Good selection of Hydes beers. Pint of Hopster is one of Jorvic's favourite session beers at 3.8%. Ric on pink Pinot Blush... hmmm. Very good value pub on Cheadle High Street.
