About This Pub
Ah, The Acorn in Barking – what a lovely little find it is! I've got to say, it's one of those pubs that really nails the friendly, community feel, with staff who go out of their way to make you feel welcome, whether you're just nipping in for a pint or planning a big celebration. The drinks selection is spot on, offering everything from smooth cask ales to fancy cocktails, and the food hits the mark too, with hearty portions that leave you satisfied. That beer garden is a real highlight, especially on a nice evening when you can catch some live music or sport while chatting away. But, to keep it real, the menu could do with a bit more variety, particularly for those who prefer vegetarian choices, and there have been times when service felt a tad slow, even when it's not packed. Overall, though, it's a welcoming spot that's worth a visit if you're in the area – just pop in, grab a drink, and soak up the local charm; you'll likely end up coming back for more.

-
It's a real community hub, with events that bring people together, like birthday parties or casual get-togethers, creating a warm and lively vibe.
Cons
-
The menu doesn't have a huge variety, which might leave some folks disappointed, especially if you're after vegetarian options.
-
Service can be a bit hit-or-miss at times, like when drinks take ages to arrive even if it's not too busy.
-
With it being a local spot, it might not feel as polished or extensive as some bigger chains, so expectations should be set accordingly.

George the manager has brought this pub back to life at long last, a true character and gentleman that the pub has been crying out for. He has brought the community together and given us so many great days and nights, Stuart is also a diamond who brings so much to the pub. A manager who goes above and beyond along with his team every single time. Thank you George.
Great pub with nice cocktails, good food and a warm atmosphere. The beer garden is just amazing.
Celebrated my 60th birthday here. Very helpful, kind and lovely staff. A space was reserved for us and a dance space was provided. They done a lovely buffet spread for us too. A very enjoyable evening. We will be back. Thank you.
Very nice pub. Very lovely atmosphere , pleasure to have drinks and food. Food absolutely lovely , delicious, good portions.
The pub and its food is nice but the menu is quite poor: there isn't a lot of choice, and even less for those who are vegetarian (like my partner). While I was eating I asked for some wine but it arrived when I had practically finished my meal. As there were only 3 tables there for lunch (with ours included), it wasn't the case that it was so busy that my drink couldn't have arrived earlier.
The place is very likeble and clean but there's definitely room for improvement. My 3 star rating is one of sincere encouragement, considering that the pub is relatively new.
I think I will go back there again in the future.
