About This Pub
Ah, Stirrup Stane – it's one of those pubs that just pulls you in with its genuine, down-to-earth charm. From what I've gathered from the reviews, it's got this lovely welcoming atmosphere where the locals and staff make you feel like part of the gang straight away, which is just what you want after a long day. The food sounds like a real winner too, well-priced and paired nicely with a pint, and that big screen for the football is a bonus for anyone who loves a bit of sport with their drink. On the flip side, it's got that old-school 'spit and sawdust' edge, meaning it's not all fancy – think simple decor and perhaps not the most modern setup, which could put off those after something a tad more refined. Plus, with not many recent reviews, it's tricky to know if it's still buzzing as it was a couple of years back, and the lack of an online presence makes it a bit of a surprise visit. Overall, if you're up for a relaxed, community-focused spot in Airdrie, it's worth popping in for a laugh and a game, but keep in mind it might not be everyone's cup of tea for a special night out.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The atmosphere is absolutely brilliant – it's warm and welcoming, with friendly folks that make you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
They've got well-priced food that's spot on, especially if you're after something simple and tasty to go with your pint.
-
There's a big screen TV perfect for watching the football, which adds a real buzz, especially on match days.
-
The staff are top-notch, always up for a chat and making sure everyone has a good time.
Cons
-
It has that classic 'spit and sawdust' feel, which is charming for some but might come across as a bit rough around the edges if you're after something more polished.
-
With only a handful of reviews and none in the last six months, it's hard to tell if things are still as lively as they used to be.
-
No website or online presence means you can't easily check menus or events ahead of time, which is a shame for planning a visit.

Great pub, great customers friendly atmosphere.
Great little pub
A bit spit and sawdust but made a nice change from a boring pub
I went in as a Rangers fan and came out a Celtic supporter, I felt light headed going in but I blamed it on last night's kebab, but no, I was transitioning, this was the last port of call, I was taken too trap two which was glowing bright white, I went thru the door and locked it 3 times in 9 seconds as instructed, I left by trap 1, strange, and I felt different, I wasn't sure what what had happened but when I got home I was wearing Kenny Dalgleish 'Y' fronts and they were a perfect fit. Great staff, great pie's and huge TV's, magic, everything needed for the newly single Scottish male.
