About This Pub
Ah, the Pillar of Salt – it's one of those pubs that just warms your heart the second you step inside. From what I've gathered from folks who've been, the team there really go the extra mile to make everyone feel welcome, whether you're popping in for a quick drink or settling in for a full meal. The menu's packed with tasty British classics that hit the spot every time, and it's brilliant for families or if you've got your dog in tow, with a sunny garden that's ideal for lazy afternoons. They've got live entertainment and sports to keep things lively, and at such reasonable prices, it's easy on the wallet too. On the downside, the opening times can be a bit unpredictable, so you'd want to plan ahead, and if you're not nearby, it might not be the most convenient jaunt. All in all, it's a gem of a place for a relaxed catch-up with mates or a bite to eat, and I'd say it's well worth a visit if you're after that genuine local feel.
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are an absolute delight – always friendly, welcoming, and ready with a smile, making you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
-
The food is spot on, with pub classics like Hunters chicken, scampi, and a cracking Sunday carvery that's cooked to perfection and full of flavour.
-
It's a proper family-friendly spot with a relaxed atmosphere, live music, sports on the telly, and even quizzes for a fun night out.
-
They've got a lovely beer garden that's perfect for soaking up the sun with a cold pint or a meal, and it's wonderfully dog-friendly too, with treats for your four-legged mate.
Cons
-
The operating hours can vary a bit, so it's worth double-checking before heading out to avoid any disappointment.
-
Being out in Droitwich, it might feel a tad out of the way if you're not local, and it could get busy on popular days, making it a bit of a squeeze.

I do not eat out very often so have not eaten here for a very long time. I ordered Hunters chicken, my friend ordered the scampi. I forgot to take photos of our mains but i did take photos of our desserts, although my friend had half eaten hers 😂. The food was lovely, we thoroughly enjoyed it. The amount was just perfect. Highly recommend anyone going. We are definitely returning.
