About This Pub
Ah, Owen's – what a lovely little spot in Coatbridge, isn't it? I've got to say, it's one of those places that just makes you feel at ease from the moment you walk in, thanks to the staff who are always so courteous and quick with a smile; it's like chatting with old friends behind the bar. The food is a real highlight – think tasty home-made pizzas and proper meals that leave you satisfied, perfect for a casual lunch or dinner with the gang. They've got all the trimmings too, like screens for catching the big games and spaces for events, which adds to that fun, community feel. On the upside, it's brilliant for organising a get-together, with affordable promotions and a history that's been passed down through generations, giving it real character. But let's be honest, it's not all roses; I've heard a few tales about it attracting a younger crowd that can lead to some unsavoury moments, especially in the quieter areas, and on packed nights, it might feel a bit chaotic if you're hoping for a peaceful evening. Still, overall, it's a solid choice for a good night out – just keep an eye on the vibe and you'll have a cracking time!

There have been some reports of rowdy behaviour from younger crowds, including issues in the toilets that might put some folks off.

If you're after a quiet, relaxed pint, the focus on sports and events might make it feel a tad overwhelming on busier nights.

Nice environment, was there for drinks alone but the staff were top notch, courteous and always with a smile. Very neat surrounding too
travelled up from berwick upon tweed for the Albion match. service was rapid and food was amazing. i took delight in sharing my french toast take with Claudia 😎 i shall return
Fantastically busy pub! Hard working bar staff keep up with demand remarkably! First time I’ve seen a bar 4 deep since Covid!
Entertainment ABBA tribute act were super.
The owner has turned this place in to nothing short of a place for the youngsters to hang out, not get ID’d and to take drugs within the toilets. I was offered drugs every time I went to the toilet on my last visit
The staff within the place now also tend to be more interested in serving those younger and ignore anyone else
If you are after a good pub, with a brilliant atmosphere this used to be the pub for you. It isn’t any longer
Foods no bad to be fair
Went back to Owen's for a meal with my husband. We both had chicken goujons which came with a side salad and dip. Then my husband had steak pie, chips and vegetables and I had beer battered fish and chips which came with a side salad, mushy peas and tartar sauce. It was all delicious.
