About This Pub

Ah, Dawat Bar and Kitchen – it's one of those places that really warms you up with its genuine Indian hospitality in the middle of Harrow. I've got to say, the food is a standout; you're in for some seriously tasty dishes with tender meats and fresh veggies that make every bite feel special, and it's all at a fair price that won't break the bank. The staff are an absolute delight, always on hand to make sure you're sorted, whether it's topping up drinks or tweaking a dish to your liking – it's that kind of thoughtful touch that makes you feel right at home. Plus, with the Bollywood music vibe on certain days, it turns into a fun, energetic spot for a group get-together. On the flip side, though, some of the meats can be a tad fatty, and those rich masalas might be a bit much if you're after something milder, so it's worth keeping in mind if you're planning a quiet evening. All in all, it's a solid choice for a mate's night out – the highs definitely outweigh the lows, and you'd be hard-pressed not to leave with a smile.

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The food is absolutely brilliant – think tender lamb, juicy chicken, and succulent paneer that really hits the spot, with a great mix of meat and veggie options.
  • Service is top-notch; the staff are so friendly and attentive, always checking in and even handling special requests with a smile.
  • It has a lively, cultural vibe with Bollywood music on Fridays and Sundays, turning a simple meal into a proper celebration.
  • Good value for money with generous portions at a moderate price, making it a wallet-friendly spot for a night out.
  • The atmosphere is welcoming and cosy, perfect for enjoying authentic Indian flavours in the heart of Harrow.
Cons
  • Some dishes, like the lamb chops, can be a bit fatty, which might put some off if you're after something lighter.
  • The masala flavours are very rich and intense, so it could feel overwhelming if you're not in the mood for bold spices.
  • Music can get quite loud on busier evenings, making it tricky to have a proper chat if you're there for a catch-up.

Gem of an Indian restaurant in Queensbury. Great food with good selection of meat and vegetarian dishes. Six of us paid £180 for a selection of starters and main courses. All the food was excellent. Lamb is tender, chicken is juicy, paneer is succulent. Lamb chops are incredible. The mixed grill starter is delicious. Highly recommend Dawat Bar and Kitchen.

Went on a Friday night and they were playing music. Good if you like that sort of thing, but if you want conversation better to sit at the back Food was good overall but the mixed grill lamb chops were quite fatty and the masala was very very rich indeed. I would not have that again. That said, overall the food we ordered was good, not amazing. A great place to meet friends and have a good old time. 4 stars overall for this outfit

Great food and excellent attentive service. Our waiter was very helpful and made sure we were always fine be with asking if we needed more drinks as he noticed they were nearly finished to special requests to cook our fish the way we wanted even though not on the menu. Made sure we were happy with every aspect of our food even to the point he replaced 2 lamb chops because they were chewy with fresh tender ones. Also made my friend whose birthday it was feel special with cake and happy birthday song. Nice place to catch up with friends.

We came from Australia and had a dinner at Dawat bar and kitchen and food was 10/10. Environment is so good and the vibes is amazing. All the staffs were very friendly and lovely. I highly recommend everyone here specially for food, live music and overall hospitality atmosphere.

Food was to the point, chicken wings were hot and tender when they arrived, portions are large and definitely worth the £, compared to other local Indian restaurants, apart from Boulevard. Crispy bhindi was the best dish of the day, highly recommend it. The waiters and waitresses are brilliant always watching out if service is needed. Drinks are daily priced and the bar is well stocked, one suggestion is probably to get a cider on draft. Seating is good, they do have live music on Friday and Sunday (I personally prefer quite atmosphere so I avoid those days) Place isn’t a sports bar but they have screens at show live sports football and cricket normally Family atmosphere with good sitting arrangements! Keep up the good service
