About This Pub
Ah, the Cheshire Tap – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a hidden gem in the heart of Altrincham, blending a bit of countryside charm with city vibes. I love how they've curated this fantastic array of craft beers; it's clear they've put thought into it, and it's a joy to sample something new with friends. The outdoor courtyard is another highlight – picture yourself soaking up the sun with a cold one in hand, surrounded by plenty of seating. Inside, the atmosphere is spot on, with live music adding that extra spark to make evenings memorable, and the staff are always chipping in with a smile and efficient service. On the flip side, though, it's not perfect; there have been times when the casked ale options were a tad slim, and a couple of folks mentioned beers that weren't quite as fresh as they'd hoped, which could put a dampener on things. Still, with its solid 4.5 rating from heaps of reviews, it's a reliable spot for a relaxed get-together. If you're popping by, I'd say go for the craft brews and enjoy the vibe, but keep in mind it might not always have the full selection you're after – overall, it's a place I'd happily recommend for a balanced night out.

Great place, lovely courtyard, especially in the sun. Lots of seating inside and outside.
Nice bar, good selection of craft beers and spirits.. Has nice outside seating..
Pleasent enough, although at the time of my visit (12.30) only two casked available were, Wainwright & Nighjar (Lost in Ikea) the latter of which was excellent, although would have benefitted from last nights beers being pulled through first. Sadly the resident Cheshire Cat had run out. I made up with a Neck Oil which being keg was on the lively side. The bar itself was quiet (Wed midday) but was warm, clean & tidy, likewise the toilets. Aside from the limited choice of casked overall it was a pleasent experience.
First visit to this bar close to the Altrincham transport interchange. Choice of three real ales. Jorvic chose the Pomona Island. Very good. Long thin room with a shared courtyard out back.
A really good pub with plenty of beers on tap, offering a decent range of styles, strength and price. A busy Saturday evening but service was quick and staff were friendly throughout. The garden area at the back is large with plenty of seating (when the weather improves). As someone else said, the gents’ toilets are inadequate for a place of this size, although that’s a minor quibble.
