About This Pub

Ah, the Bush Inn – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem in Worcester, you know? I've heard from folks who've been there that it's got this warm, inviting atmosphere, especially after that refurb that really highlights those lovely old Victorian and Edwardian touches; it's like stepping back in time for a pint. The staff, particularly Nat the manager, are spot on – friendly and chatty, making you feel right at ease. And the drinks? Brilliant selection of local ales and ciders, all kept in top nick and at prices that won't break the bank, which is always a win on a night out. They've got live music on Fridays too, which livens things up without overwhelming the place, so it's great for a relaxed catch-up or a bit of a singalong. But, and I have to be straight with you, there are a few downsides that might make you think twice. Apparently, the manager's boyfriend can be a bit of a handful, getting aggressive or overly opinionated, which has put some people off their evening. Plus, no dedicated parking means you might end up circling the streets, and the opening times look a bit muddled, so it's worth planning ahead. Overall, it's a solid spot if you're after a traditional pub experience, but maybe pop in when things are calm to get the best of it – wouldn't want you to miss out on the good bits!

Pros and Cons

Pros
  • The staff are absolutely lovely and welcoming, like Nat the manager, who really makes you feel at home.
  • It's got a fantastic atmosphere with a recent refurb that brings out the beautiful Victorian and Edwardian features – proper cosy and characterful.
  • They serve up well-kept beer and a great selection of local real ales, ciders, and spirits, all at really reasonable prices.
  • There's a nice, relaxed vibe where you can chat without shouting, plus they have live music on Friday nights which adds a fun touch.
  • It's a traditional pub that's perfect for a quiet pint or a catch-up with mates, and it's open every day of the week.
Cons
  • One of the staff members, the manager's boyfriend, can come across as a bit aggressive and opinionated, which might spoil your visit if he's around.
  • There's no dedicated parking, so you might have to hunt for a spot nearby, which can be a hassle.
  • The operating hours seem a tad confusing from what I've seen, with multiple listings that might not be straightforward – worth double-checking before heading out.
