About This Pub
Ah, the Blue Posts in St James's – it's one of those pubs that just feels like a proper local gem, even smack in the middle of the city. From the reviews, it's clear the team there really know how to look after folks, with stories of staff like Stefan going the extra mile for events or Kelsey and Nico making every visit feel welcoming. It's brilliant for sports fans, with loads of screens showing everything from Premier League footie to rugby tours, and the atmosphere gets nicely buzzy without being overwhelming. The food and drinks hold up well too – think decent pub grub and a range of beers that pair perfectly with a match. On the downside, it does fill up quickly, so you might need to book ahead if you're set on a table, and while the prices are fair for the area, they might feel a bit steep if you're out for a budget night. All in all, it's a solid choice for a relaxed pint, a family meal, or even bringing the dog along, and I'd say it's worth a visit if you're in the neighbourhood – just go with the flow and enjoy the vibe!
Pros and Cons
Pros
-
The staff are absolutely brilliant and so welcoming – they go out of their way to make you feel at home, like sorting out a cosy spot for special occasions.
-
It's a fantastic spot for catching live sports, with multiple screens and a lively buzz that makes watching the big games, from football to rugby, a real treat.
-
The food and drinks are spot on, with a good selection of beers and tasty options that hit the spot, especially if you're popping in for a quick bite.
-
Its location near St James's and Piccadilly is just perfect for a relaxed stop after exploring the city, and it's great that it's family-friendly and dog-friendly too.
-
The atmosphere is warm and inviting, whether you're there for a casual catch-up or to enjoy the outdoor seating on a nice day.
Cons
-
It can get quite busy, especially during events or peak hours, which might make it a bit of a squeeze to find a table or a quiet corner.
-
Prices are on the moderate side, so if you're planning a long session, it could add up a tad more than you'd expect in central London.

Big big thanks to Blue Post team especially Stefan who looked after us and our guests so well for our post wedding get together! Stefan was able to secure a nice semi private area for the group and we are ever so grateful. It was a great touch. Thank you again!!!!
Lovely pub and lovely atmosphere, can also say the same for the food I ordered. The service is excellent, nice and friendly staff and I was surprised on how quick they serve my food! Outdoors seating available with proper loo as well. Came in for dinner and to catch the football match, definitely delighted!
Always a warm welcome from Kelsey, Nico and the team. Been here many times for food and drinks with the kids and missus. Highly recommended. Definitely one of our go to spots locally! 👍🏻
Tough to find a really good sized, buzzy pub in Central London (1 min off Piccadilly) where multiple TV screens also allow easy sports viewing from any spot/table - but this is certainly a perfect venue for that! Good selection of beers, including Estrella Zero, and food was decent too. Both the burgers and the Whitby Scampi and chips were delicious. Book a table ahead for a busy night to give yourself a guaranteed enjoyable experience!
This is a nice Greene King pub just off Piccadilly near The Ritz. They had six cask beers so I opted for a rather nice London Glory at £6.40 (4.1% abv). It is quite large, bright and they have exterior seating. I was here at 3.30pm on a Tuesday and it was quite busy, however the service was very good. They do serve food and a nice touch is the free, self service, iced water at the bar. In addition to the usual sports they also show NFL on Sundays. Spirits were expensive e.g. single Buffalo Trace at £8.40 but you can double up for an extra £3, making it more reasonable. In summary, a very nice pub worth a visit.
